MOONEY OFFENSE TOO MUCH TO KEEP UP WITH
STRUTHERS OH- Trent Litman was locked in on Friday, and JFK felt every bit of it. The Mooney standout drove in five runs on three hits, powering the Cardinals past the Eagles 13-6 in a game that turned into a hit parade.
Litman cracked the scoreboard open in the third with a bases-loaded single that brought home three. He followed it up an inning later with a two-run double and added another RBI knock in the sixth for good measure.
Mooney got rolling in the second when Aidan Radinsky drove in the game’s first run. JFK answered back in the third on an Andrew Lapolla groundout to tie things at 1-1, but that was the last time it was close.
The Cardinals dropped a six-spot in the bottom of the third and followed it up with five more in the fourth. Andrew Bushey plated two with a single, then Litman doubled in another pair to stretch the lead beyond reach.
Tyler Wilson grabbed the win for Mooney, tossing four innings and holding JFK to four runs (three earned) on six hits. Vince Gentile came on in relief to close things out. JFK’s Michael Bartoe took the loss after giving up five runs in just over two innings.
Mooney racked up 13 hits in the win. Kaden Reese, Sam Owens, and Radinsky each had multi-hit nights, while the defense turned a clean double play.
JFK swung it well, too—10 knocks in all. Freddy Bolchalk did damage from the seven-hole, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Taggart Carfangia, Landon Snyder, and Trevin Rinck each chipped in with two hits, and the Eagles also turned a double play defensively.
