TIGERS SET THEIR SIGHTS ON CONFERENCE WIN

LEAVITTSBURG OH- Sophie Tvaroch shut down LaBrae, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Newton Falls to a 8-0 victory on Tuesday

In the first inning, Newton Falls  got their offense started. Zoe McElrath drove in one when McElrath doubled.

Newton Falls tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Emiy Knight and Ashlie Harvey each drove in runs during the inning.

One bright spot for LaBrae was a single by Grace Barnhart in the first inning.

Tvaroch earned the win for the Tigers. Tvaroch allowed one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 17 and walking one.

Barnhart took the loss for LaBrae. Barnhart lasted six innings, allowing 16 hits and eight runs while striking out five and walking one.

Newton Falls tallied 16 hits in the game. Joe’l Hood, McElrath, Harvey, and Chloe Butler each managed multiple hits. Hood led with four hits in four at bats.

Barnhart went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead LaBrae in hits.
