WARRIORS LEAVE NO HOPE FOR HOPEWELL

Mohawk weathered a scare by Hopewell in the fifth inning where the Warriors coughed up three runs, but they still won 12-5 on Thursday. Hopewell’s big inning was driven by singles by Jordyn Glumac and Victoria Mann.

Mohawk opened up scoring in the first inning. An error scored two runs.

The Warriors notched six runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Reagan Magno and Mylie Pistorius, a triple by Addy Moskal, and a double by Aricka Young.

Magno got the start for Mohawk. The hurler allowed 11 hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out four.

Mya Parish was on the rubber for the Vikings. The righty surrendered 12 runs on 14 hits over six and a third innings, striking out five. Allison Ramaley threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Mohawk racked up 15 hits. Young, Moskal, Maya McGreal, and Magno each collected multiple hits. Moskal and Young each managed three hits to lead the way. Mohawk didn’t commit a single error in the field. Young had the most chances in the field with five.

Hopewell racked up 11 hits on the day. Ava Compton, Glumac, and Chloe Nale all had multiple hits. Compton led the Vikings with three hits in three at bats.
