NEW MIDDLETOWN, OHIO – Springfield went double dipping Thursday to sweep a doubleheader with Sebring. The first game was won pretty handedly as in non baseball teams it took two touchdowns and a field goal for Springfield to take out Sebring 17-0.

The lineup card was filled with hits, RBI’s, and runs in game one. Parker Dobson, Ruark, and Vincent Woods each had multi-hit games with Ruark leading the team with four runs batted in. Dobson took the ball and toed the runner for game one and came out as the victorious pitcher going three innings only giving up one hit and striking out seven batters.

Game two was a lot closer for Sebring but Springfield still prevailed. There was no fall off in offense from the first game as Springfield kept the ball rolling in the first inning when Braden Butler had a one RBI double.

Springfield scored three more runs in the third inning to make it 5-0 when Vincent Woods, Parker Dobson, and Blake Poole each drove in base runners in their half of the inning. Poole went 2-for-2 with a bay in his hands to lead his Tiger team in hits for game two.

Barber got through five well pitched innings, allowing one run on four hits while ringing up 11 Sebring batters.

Springfield will go to battle with another MVAC Scarlet Tier opponent on Monday in Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. as both teams battle for positioning in the conference standings.
