STRONGSVILLE OH- Wellsville found themselves in yet another regional match up with the Monroeville Eagles on Saturday afternoon.  The Eagles have had the better of the matchup in the past, but the Tigers were hoping to change all of that. Playing for something far greater than volleyball with their head coach Jonathan Stokes still in the hospital, the Tigers battled like crazy. In the end however, Monroeville still had too much to handle. The Eagles punched their 5th ticket to the state tournament since 2015 with a four set victory.  (25-19 25-27 25-13 25-15)

Presley Stokes continued to leave her impression on everyone in the state with another phenomenal performance. She finished with a double double with 18 kills, 16 assists, and added 7 digs.  Alana Amato and Bella Poppelriter both had 9 kills. Poppelriter led the team in assists with 19, and also added 9 digs. Amato contributed 8 digs. Aubri Ramsey led the Tigers with 28 digs out of the back row.

Wellsville ends their season with a record of 26-2. They were on a 26 match win streak coming in to Saturday.  Monroeville will meet Newark Catholic in the State Semifinal on Thursday at 12:00 at Wright State University.
