SALEM QUAKES THE POTTERS

SALEM OH- The Salem offense scored early and often, all in the 1st half Friday night, which led to a 38-6 victory in dominating fashion over Columbiana County rival East Liverpool. After scoring 40 points against Beaver Local, the Quakers picked up where they left off in week 2 and put up 38 unanswered 1st half points, en route to picking up their 3rd consecutive win to start the 2022 campaign.

Leading the way for the Quakers was Quarterback Jackson Johnson, who threw for 159 yards and four touchdown passes (Swiger, D. Monroy, Oesch-2), and ran for another. He spread the ball around to a number of different receivers on the night and they did a great job making contested catches, as well as picking up big yards after the catch.
Defensively, the Quakers ones suffocated the Potter offense, to the tune of 20 total 1st half yards and only one first down, which came with under four minutes to go until halftime.
With the 30 point separation between the two teams in the 2nd half, the 2nd string Quakers were able to see some snaps the entirety of the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Salem (3-0) will host Canton Central Catholic next week, while East Liverpool (1-2) will welcome rival Beaver Local.
