CLIPPERS AREN’T EASY TO OUT DO

COLUMBIANA, OHIO- Devin Daugherty would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Columbiana past Wellsville 10-4 on Wednesday.

Daugherty drove in runs on a single in the fifth and a single in the sixth. The Clippers earned the victory despite allowing the Tigers to score three runs in the fourth inning when Dalton Heffner made a error in the field of play. Columbiana had nine hits in the game as Ian Less, Daugherty, Colin Keleman, and Max Conway each racked up multiple hits. Conway, Keleman, Daugherty, and Less all had two hits to lead the team at the plate.

Alex Eusebio earned the victory on the mound as he surrendered three runs on four hits over five and a third innings, striking out ten. Less threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Justin Temple led Wellsville with two hits in four at bats and Tyler Landess led things off on the hill for the Tigers. The righthander surrendered ten runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out one and walking one.

Columbiana will look to stay on the winning side of things when they take on Mineral Ridge on Thursday at 5:00. Wellsville will take on East on Friday at 5:00.
