CRAWFORD’S DOMINANCE LIFTS WARRIORS

BESSEMER, PA- In a thrilling showdown on Wednesday, Briar Crawford showcased his pitching prowess, notching an impressive 10 strikeouts to propel the Mohawk Warriors to a commanding 5-1 triumph over Neshannock.

Right from the start, Crawford asserted his dominance, allowing no hits and no runs over four and two-thirds innings while issuing five walks. His stellar performance on the mound set the tone for the Warriors’ victory.

The Warriors wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with A.J. Verdi delivering a crucial single in the top of the first inning to ignite the team’s offensive charge.

Despite a valiant effort from Neshannock’s Boyd Kurutz, who pitched three innings and struck out two, the Warriors’ offense proved too potent. Jackson Chapman stepped up to secure the save, ensuring the victory for Mohawk.

Verdi emerged as a standout performer, driving in three runs for the Warriors and making his presence felt in the heart of the lineup. His clutch hitting was instrumental in securing the win for Mohawk, as he finished the day 1-for-3 at the plate.

Contributions from Aidan Bowser, Jay Wrona, and Keigan Hopper added depth to the Warriors’ offensive attack, each collecting a hit to keep the pressure on Neshannock’s pitching staff. Mohawk’s disciplined approach at the plate paid dividends, drawing eight walks throughout the game.

Despite the loss, Neshannock showed resilience at the plate, with Cole Hutchison and Dom Cubellis each registering a hit. Giovanni Valentine led the team with a crucial RBI, while Kurutz demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing two walks.

Looking ahead, the Mohawk are gearing up for their next challenge as they prepare to face Ambridge at home on Friday. With momentum on their side, they aim to continue their winning streak and further solidify their position as a force to be reckoned with in the league.
