FIRTH THROWS NO-NO IN FIRST GAME OF EP DOUBLE DIP

HANOVERTON, OH- We’re starting to see an arms race shaping up in the Valley, and United’s ace is certainly making a case for having her hat in the ring.  The East Palestine Bulldogs fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-0 loss to United on Saturday. United scored on a triple by Colby Burton, a passed ball during Brielle Rose‘s at-bat, and a double by Cope in the first inning.

United got things moving in the first inning when Burton tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Tori Firth led things off on the rubber for United. The Big Dog nominee lasted five innings, allowing no hits and zero runs while striking out nine and walking one.

Freshman, Anna Yonker was in the pitcher’s circle for the Bulldogs. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing 11 hits and 11 runs while striking out three.

United saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Brielle Rose and Joshlynn Irey each managed multiple hits for United. United was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Rose had the most chances in the field with nine.
