FITCH FINISHES OFF SERIES WITH HARDING

Nik Kyprianou struck out 10 batters as the left-handed pitcher led Austintown-Fitch past Harding 10-3 on Wednesday. Kyprianou allowed two hits and one run over five innings while walking two.

Mason Petridis collected four hits in five at bats in the win. Petridis doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

The Falcons opened the scoring in the first after Petridis singled, scoring one run. They added one run in the second after Jake Wallace hit a sacrifice fly. A double by Petridis extended the their lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning. Fitch scored five runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning. Carter Owens singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, John Darnley doubled, scoring one run, and a passed ball scored one run.

Gummy Hart took the loss for Harding. The right-handed pitcher went four and one-third innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking three. Anthony Wibert pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Austintown-Fitch in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

The Falcons collected 11 hits in the game. Frank Senediak collected two hits in five at bats. Jackson Cheeks led with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.
