KOHLER COOLS OFF EAGLES

CANFIELD OH- Hubbard came into Mondays matchup at South Range with only one conference loss on the season, and ahead of the Raiders in the standings. The Eagles offense brought six hitters with averages above .400 coming in to the day. Bree Kohler was able to keep them in check though, as she held Hubbard to just 2 hits in the Raiders 13-0 win in 5 innings.

Kohler set the tone in the first inning, quickly retiring the Eagles 1,2,3. Then in the bottom of the inning with two on, and two outs Kelly Szolek came up with a clutch 2 RBI double that sparked a massive two out rally from the Raiders. They would score 6 runs in the inning and bat a round.

Haley Croyle seemed to calm down after that hiccup. She held the Raiders off the scoreboard in the next two innings. But the Raiders wanted to go home early on this night and would eventually blast ahead for seven more runs in the 4th inning to set up the run rule victory.

Szolek went 2-3 on the day with a walk. She hit in 3 RBI and scored a run. For her efforts, Szolek was named Baird Brothers Player Of The Game. Jillian Strecansky was perfect at the plate. She went 3-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. Madi Dado, Jamie Feren, Taylor Smesko, and Kohler each added RBIs.

Kohler was on fire in the circle and kept the potent Eagles offense in check. Her final line was 5.0 IP 2 H 0 R 1 BB 6 K.

Only 4 of the 13 Raider runs were charged to Croyle. She struck out 5, and walked 5.
