LISBON, OH- The Lisbon Lady Blue Devils were defeated only once in the regular season. Their 20-1 record is impressive, but as any coach will tell you when it comes to postseason play- “Everybody is 0-0.”
Except, now the Lady Devils are 1-0 after an opening win against Liberty on Wednesday. McKenna Dailey came the ballpark and meant business on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Lisbon past Liberty 16-5 on Wednesday. Dailey drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the second, and in the fourth.
Emma Thompson was the winning pitcher for the Lady Blue Devils. She allowed five hits and five runs over three and a third innings, striking out six. Mya Emmerling threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Fine took the loss for Liberty. She allowed 11 hits and 16 runs over four innings.
