LOUISVILLE COMES UP SHORT AGAINST CLOVERLEAF

LOUISVILLE, OH- Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Monday in a high-scoring affair where Cloverleaf bested Louisville 7-6.

The Leps fell short despite out-hitting Cloverleaf nine to six.  Louisville fired up the offense in the first inning when they scored two runs right out of the gate.

In the top of the seventh inning, Louisville tied things up at six. Ryan Aljancic hit a solo homer over the right-centerfield fence.  The hit was clutch as the Leopards were down to their final out.

Cloverleaf scored three runs in the third inning. Cloverleaf’s big inning was driven by a single by Max Dieckhoner, a fielder’s choice by Logan Tierney, and an error on a ball put in play by Jason Sitko.

Tierney got the win for Cloverleaf. Tierney lasted two innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero. Broady Wittman threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Caleb Miller took the hard-luck loss for Louisville . The hurler lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out four and walking one.

Drew Shreck started the game for Cloverleaf. The bulldog allowed six hits and five runs over five and a third innings, striking out seven and walking zero Tony Brahler started the game for Louisville. The lefty surrendered six runs on five hits over five innings, striking out one and walking one

Kaedin Gotshall led Louisville, offensively with three hits in four at-bats
