POTTERS BATS GO COLD AGAINST CREEK

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- Tuesday was tough for the East Liverpool Potters as they struggled to keep pace with a sharp Indian Creek team, ultimately falling 12-2 in a game that was all about big hits and strategic plays.

Indian Creek wasted no time, kicking off with a bang in the first inning. Landon Pownall got things rolling with a two-run double, followed by Tre Feist-Winland, who kept the momentum going with an RBI single. Hunter Rusnak rounded out the inning with a groundout that brought in another run, quickly putting Indian Creek up 4-0.

The scoring didn’t stop there. In the second inning, Sal Barcalow ripped a double that pushed their lead to a commanding 7-2. Indian Creek’s lineup was firing on all cylinders, and East Liverpool just couldn’t find an answer.

On the mound, Sylus Hyde was in control for Indian Creek, turning in a solid five-inning stint where he allowed just three hits and two runs while striking out five. His performance was crucial in keeping the Potters at bay. Conversely, Malachi Reed struggled for East Liverpool, surrendering seven runs over just two innings, with only four of those runs earned due to some defensive lapses.

Reed did contribute with his bat, however, driving in one of East Liverpool’s two runs, alongside Kasen Ramsey. Evan Tice and Anderson Fitch each managed a hit in what was a tough day at the plate for the Potters.

Indian Creek, on the other hand, had a field day with the bat, notching 10 hits. Feist-Winland and Barcalow proved particularly problematic for East Liverpool’s pitchers, driving in three runs each. Pownall added a pair of hits to his early RBI double, while Ty Householder drew two walks, highlighting Indian Creek’s patient approach at the plate that accumulated nine walks throughout the game.

As the Potters look to regroup, they’re set to travel to Beaver for their next game on Thursday. They’ll be aiming to tighten up their game and bounce back with a stronger showing.
