RAIDERS CLIP CARDS IN EXTRAS AT CENE

STRUTHERS, OH- The South Range Raiders took the lead late and defeated Cardinal Mooney 10-9 on Thursday. The game was tied at eight with Raiders batting in the top of the eighth when Josh Stear‘s sac fly scored one run for Raiders.  The game was a back and forth battle between the two local heavyweight teams and just like a title bout, both teams landed heavy shots when it counted.

Cardinal Mooney flew out of the gates and scored five runs in the first inning, but Raiders still managed to pull out the victory. Ethan Shaw and Matt Womer each had RBIs in the big inning.  The Raiders scored three runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Jake Gehring and Jaxon Anderson and a double by Trey Pancake.

Freshman flamethrower Dylan Dominguez got the win for Raiders. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five in an incredible and gutsy performance.  Ethan Shaw took the tough loss for Cardinal Mooney. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four.  Johnnie Mikos started the game for Cardinal Mooney. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs while striking out six Nick Habeth started the game for Raiders. He surrendered seven runs on six hits over four innings, striking out four

The Raiders collected 12 hits. GehringPancakeBen Rivera, and Anderson each managed multiple hits for South Range. Gehring went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Raiders in hits.  Cardinal Mooney totaled ten hits in the game. Walter Sweeney, Mikos, JT Ogden, and AJ Pepperney all managed multiple hits for Cardinal Mooney. Sweeney led Cardinal Mooney with three hits.
