SLAGLE IS PERFECT IN BATTLE FOR THE RANGE
CANFIELD, OH- The South Range Raiders Softball program hosted their annual Battle for the Range that featured their 10u and 8u teams on Wednesday, and it was quite the show from Riley Slagle as she dealt a perfect game with 11 strikeouts in the circle for Fairway.
Fairway got things started in the bottom of the first with three walks. Ellie Liebig drew a walk that brought in the first run. The scoring continued in the second inning with walks from Macey Eicher, Evelyn Liebig, Riley Slagle, Reese Brogan, and a single from Taylor Dustman, each driving in a run.
Fairway didn’t let up, adding five more runs in the third with RBI walks from Mya Niznik, Eliza Liebig, Molly Bagwell , Brylee Ostrosky, and Evelyn Liebig. Evelyn Liebig led the charge with two RBIs, while Estelle Gustat went 2-for-2 to lead the team in hits. Fairway showed great patience at the plate, racking up 20 walks. Ellie and Riley each walked three times, and Riley stole two bases.
Fairway will welcome Lowellville for their next game on Monday.
