STRUTHERS BATS HEAT UP IN TEMPS; ROLL BEAVER LOCAL

STRUTHERS, OH- Beaver Local stayed in it until the end, but Struthers pulled away late in a 17-7 victory on Saturday. In the bottom of the fourth, an error scored one run for Struthers.

The Beavers lost despite out-hitting Struthers 12 to nine.  Struthers scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Ronnie Leonard, Caleb Sakara, Gino Calabrette, Chance Laczko, and Olindo Pezzone all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Laczko led the Struthers to victory on the mound. The pitcher surrendered six runs on ten hits over four innings, striking out five and walking zero. Leonard threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Micah Jones took the loss for Beaver Local. The righty allowed two hits and six runs over one inning, striking out one.

Wyatt Johnson started the game for Beaver Loca. Johnson surrendered five runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three

The Beavers racked up 12 hits on the day. Dorian Jackson and Avery Wiegand each had multiple hits for Beaver Local. Wiegand and Jackson each collected three hits to lead the team.

Struthers collected nine hits on the day. Alec Grzyb, Leonard, Pezzone, and Laczko each managed multiple hits for Struthers. Struthers stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Grzyb led the way with two.
