Beaver Local would score twice more before the half, courtesy of a Caden Foster 33 yard TD catch and a 17 yard Austin Cline TD run, but Harrison Central was able to keep their hopes alive with a 65 yard bomb to Tre Rex from Hayden Cassidy again. Beaver Local shut the door coming out of half though, as we saw the third TD connection from Austin Cline and Logan Blissenbach, from 37 yards out this time, as Blissenbach ended with a Randy Moss esque stat line of 3 catches, 93 yards, and 3 scores. Plenty of different faces have stepped up for this team through out the season.

Sarah Lowe earned her 200th career win earlier this week. It is a testament to her dedication to not just the sport of volleyball, but also to this program at Beaver Local. She is not one to talk about herself, and the first people to get credit from her are all the coaches and players she has had the chance to work with.

Sarah had the time to come on to Running Point this week to talk some Beavers Volleyball. She chats with Anthony Hartwig about the current state of the team, some of their challenges ahead, and more. Episode 2 of Coach’s Corner with Sarah Lowe is live!

BEAVERS AND POTTERS VOLLEY FOR A CURE

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- Beaver Local welcomed rival East Liverpool to the Beaver Dome for a much anticipated rematch after the Beavers took the previous meeting in August. New location same result as the home standing Beaver Local team extended their win streak to six with a four set 27-29, 25-14, 25-13, 25-12 victory.

The game most importantly also doubled as the annual Volley for a Cure match. “The true winner on the night was the community and families we were able to raise funds for” Head Coach Sarah Lowe stated on the event. It was on court this Saturday afternoon where the Potters came out of the gate strong and aggressive early capitalizing on Beavers’ mistakes mid way through the first set rallying to the 29-27 victory. The success was limited to the first set however as the Beavers, behind a very raucous student section, were able correct their mistakes and took control the rest of the way.

The offensive attack was on full display Saturday, Beavers Head Coach took notice. “Tonight’s attack was a full team effort from our defense, to our setters, and our hitters.” Grace Hill’s 15 kills, 3 blocks and Elizabeth Kolkowski’s 12 kills, 7 blocks made life really tough in middle for the Potters. Brooke Talbot again had another solid all around performance tallying 17 kills, 4 aces, 9 assists, 14 digs, and 2 blocks.

Emma Joseph set up the offensive attack with a team high 31 assists. The defense would not be overshadowed for the winners, Kodi Kinsey 33 digs, Bailey Bowersock 18 digs, and Leah Riccardo 11 digs all were solid in their performance. It was that performance by the defense that Coach Lowe knows is the backbone to their success. “Without our strings in the backrow and our smart setters our team would not be who we are.”

The Beavers (11-1) will look to keep moving full steam ahead as they welcome Harrison Central on Monday for Senior Night.
