One of the biggest advantages that Chaney has is their speed and athleticism and that is led by LeBron Donlow from his wideout and defensive back position and Rolando Bruno, a key starter in the trenches who is always ready to do the little things to make the Cowboys succeed whether he gets noticed or not. LeBron possesses a unique ability of size, speed, and football I.Q. that helps him be in position to make plays on both sides of the football week in and week out.

JACKSON LEADS THE WAY

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – When you think of the Chaney Cowboys football team, one might think about all the skill positions and how they use their speed to run the football or how they always seem to find ways to pass the football, but little do many people know, its the guys in the trenches on the offensive line that make their offense as prolific as it is. Jaheim Jackson, our star in this player profile, is one of the “big men up front” that are constantly battling, moving mountains, and helping the Cowboys move the football down the field. The line never gets the credit in the public eye since not many people pay attention to that aspect of the game, but Jaheim doesn’t mind that. He is a man that prides himself on doing his job, doing it well, and helping the team win at all costs.

Jaheim was able to sit down with Steve Leslie this week at Hackett’s Pub on Mahoning Avenue, to discuss the season so far, how the Cowboys are playing in his opinion, what his expectations are for the season, what his plans are for after high school, a rapid-fire questionnaire where he opens up a little bit about what makes him the special player and person that he is, and so much more!

LATE SCORES ALLOW COWBOYS TO RUN AWAY

BOARDMAN OH- It was a classic rivalry renewed on Friday night as Chaney traveled to Boardman to test their might against the Spartans.  In a game that was destined to be competitive, it quickly turned into a runaway as the Cowboys scored 21 unanswered points late in the game to win 40-14.

Matt Jones led the Cowboys under center and ran for three touchdowns.  Chaney had two separate runs of 20 unanswered points or more. After Boardman took the early lead with a Tomas Andujar touchdown pass, Chaney responded with three straight. Two scores from Jones, and one by Jason Amill-Austin. It made it 20-7 as the teams went into intermission.

Boardman came out of the half with a great drive that was capped off with a Andujar touchdown run.  The tides would quickly turn back to Chaney though as DJ Waller ran back the ensuing kick off for a touchdown to make it 28-14.  Chaney would have firm control of the game from that point on.

Chaney moves to 2-0 and will test themselves against another old school rival in Week 3 as they play Cardinal Mooney.  Boardman will try to bounce back as they host Massillon Jackson.
