THE DYNAMIC DUO

CAMPBELL, OH – Malik Young is a rising star on the Campbell Memorial Red Devils football team, making his mark as a versatile and dynamic player. As a junior, he has already established himself as a key contributor both as a running back and outside linebacker. With lightning speed and exceptional agility, Malik has become a potent force on the offensive side of the ball, frequently breaking through the opposition’s defenses with powerful runs and elusive maneuvers. Defensively, he’s equally impressive, known for his ability to read the game, make crucial tackles, and create turnovers. Kaleb Boudrey, a sophomore wide receiver and outside linebacker, is another rising talent for the Red Devils football team. Despite his young age, Kaleb has already demonstrated remarkable skills on both sides of the field. As a wide receiver, he possesses exceptional hands and route-running abilities, often making incredible catches and turning short passes into substantial gains. CAMPBELL MEMORIAL RED DEVILS FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 6) WITH ANDREW KING

CAMPBELL, OH – Coming off a tough road game at Crestview, head coach Andrew King and the Campbell Memorial Red Devils (1-4) are looking to right the ship and get back to their winning ways. Last week saw the Red Devils fall, 44-20, to the Rebels and this week will be another challenge as they will travel up to Garrettsville Garfield to take on the undefeated G-men in week six.

YSN’s own, Chris Sigler, was able to sit down with Coach King at Tavern 26 this week to discuss last week’s game at Crestview, what he and his staff have been implementing this week in practice to get the Red Devils back on track, and what his keys to victory are for a very tough opponent in Garrettsville Garfield this week.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – It’s week six and the Springfield Tigers look like they are hitting their stride. They have put up one hundred and twenty-seven points over the last two weeks. And while the running game has been a big component that teams can’t overlook the passing threat this team poses. And that’s made possible in part thanks to the big play threat of senior Dylan Sheely. Sheely plays wide receiver and cornerback for the Tigers. Sheely’s ability to get open in tight coverage alongside of his explosive speed makes him a favorite target in the passing game. He also has been getting involved in the rushing game along with playing the defensive side of the ball. But his favorite position is receiver and that’s where he thrives.

YSN’s own, Noah Doughty, had the opportunity to o sit down with Dylan this week at Tiger’s Table, to talk about how being apart of the state run during their freshman year has shaped this senior class, what he thinks this team can accomplish this season, what it means playing for Springfield and the support means to him, and rapid fire questions where we learn more about Dylan both on and off the field.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – We are halfway through the season and the Springfield Tigers offense has been explosive. And a big part of that has been the blocking they received not only from the offensive line but the fullback well. The fullback’s ability to step up and block for both the run and pass game has made them one of the unsung heroes of this team.  This week we got to catch up with senior fullback and linebacker Davin McKinney. McKinney has been battling injuries this season but made his senior year debut against Mathews last Friday. Davin was a letter winner last year for the Tigers and is looking forward to being able to make an impact down the stretch.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – Coming off a huge 71-0 victory in week five, head coach Sean Guerriero and the Springfield Tigers are on the prowl as the season has reached the home stretch. The Tigers traveled up to Mathews last week and dominated from the opening kick to the final whistle en-route to a victory. Up next for Springfield will be a tough MVAC contest as the Jackson-Milton Bluejays will come to New Middletown on Friday night.

POLAND, OH – Coming off another dominating victory in week five, head coach Tom Pavlansky and the Poland Bulldogs are firing on all cylinders. In week five the Bulldogs traveled up to Hubbard and came away with a huge 53-0 victory. Up next for Poland will be an extremely important NE8 battle with the South Range Raiders at home on Friday night!

POLAND, OH – Adoni Efthimiou, a senior offensive lineman for the Poland Bulldogs football team, is a towering presence on and off the field. VIKINGS SET TONE EARLY IN ROAD WIN OVER NEWTON FALLS

NEWTON FALLS, OH- It only took 1:05 into the first quarter for the LaBrae Vikings to set the tone on the road against their rival Newton Falls in a 41-7 route on Friday evening.

The Vikes were able to score defensively on a scoop and score on defense when LaBrae forced a fumble and took it to the house from 33 yards out to put them up 7-0 with the Max Young extra point,

Moments later, LaBrae forced another fumble inside the 5-yard line of Newton Falls only to recover it, and punch in another score on their first offensive play of the night, making it 14-0 just 65 ticks into the contest.

LaBrae would control the line of scrimmage for the majority of the night, moving the Tigers line around to be able to rush for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.  The backs were paced by Gabe Green who ran for 49 yards on three carries.  Davin Derry had 7 carries for 48 yards as well.

Kenny Yoho bottled lightning through the passing game with a couple of strikes from 11 yards, and 26 yards out respectively which included a highlight reel catch from Gabe Green to seal the win.

For Newton Falls, Carter Rapczack led the way on the ground going 16 carries deep for 100 yards with the Tigers’ lone score on the night.

Labrae advances to 2-3 on the year with the win, while Newton Falls drops to 3-2.

CARDINALS SOAR PAST THE COWBOYS

CANFIELD, OH – Under the bright stadium lights, the Canfield Cardinals and the Chaney Cowboys clashed in a thrilling football game that would leave fans on the edge of their seats. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the two teams faced off, each aiming for victory.

The Canfield Cardinals struck first, setting the tone for the game with a powerful rushing touchdown by Danny Inglis. The home crowd roared with approval as Canfield took an early 7-0 lead.

But the Cardinals were far from finished. Scottie Eaton, a force to be reckoned with on the field, broke through the Cowboys’ defense with a determined rushing touchdown. The scoreboard now showed Canfield leading 14-0, and their fans were buzzing with anticipation.

Danny Inglis, showcasing his speed and agility, added to Canfield’s lead with another impressive rushing touchdown. The Cardinals were firing on all cylinders, extending their lead to 21-0.

The Chaney Cowboys weren’t ready to concede defeat. Dewayne Thompson, displaying his skills as a receiver, made a fantastic touchdown reception, putting Chaney on the scoreboard. The Cowboys narrowed the gap to 21-7, and their fans erupted in celebration.

Canfield, however, remained undeterred. Scottie Eaton continued to be a driving force for the Cardinals, bulldozing his way into the end zone for another rushing touchdown. The home team was firmly in control, leading 28-7.

Chaney fought back with determination, with Matt Jones breaking through for a rushing touchdown. The Cowboys were showing their resilience, though they still trailed 28-14.

But the Canfield Cardinals had one more statement to make. Scottie Eaton, the game’s standout performer, found the end zone once again with yet another rushing touchdown. The home crowd erupted with cheers as Canfield extended their lead to 35-14.

As the final minutes of the game ticked away, the Canfield Cardinals’ defense held strong, preventing any late-game heroics from the Chaney Cowboys. The final whistle blew, and Canfield emerged victorious with a convincing 35-14 win.

The game had been a showcase of skill, determination, and the unyielding spirit of both teams. The Canfield Cardinals had secured a well-deserved victory, but both sides had given their all, providing fans with an exciting and memorable football spectacle.
