BEARS DENIED BY LISBON

LISBON, OH- A seven-run fourth inning led Lisbon to a 13-1 victory on Tuesday.  Logan BellJosh EntrikinNick MundyGrant Underwood, and Damien McCormick powered the big inning with RBIs.

The Blue Devils got on the board in the first inning when Entrikin grounded out, scoring one run.

Bell earned the win for Lisbon. He allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out 13 and walking one. Entrikin threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Sefton Houlette took the loss for Leetonia. He allowed ten hits and 13 runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Lisbon tallied 11 hits in the game. Blake ReynoldsBell, and Mundy each managed multiple hits for the Blue Devils. MundyBell, and Reynolds each collected two hits to lead Lisbon.

Leetonia tallied five hits. Toby Heckman and Brock Simpson all had multiple hits for Leetonia.

BELL RINGS 16, DEVILS HAMMER JAYS

LISBON, OH- Lisbon scored six runs in the second on its way to an 11-1 victory over Jackson-Milton on Friday. Jaikep Entrikin had an RBI single in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Logan Bell was the winning pitcher for Lisbon. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out 16 and walking none.

Lay took the loss for Jackson-Milton. He allowed eight hits and 11 runs over four and a third innings, striking out four.

Bell also went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI’s at the plate to lead David Anderson Blue Devils Varsity in hits.

TORONTO TAKES LISBON TO TASK

LISBON, OH- Lisbon lost the lead late in a 15-7 defeat to Toronto on Thursday. The game was tied at seven with Toronto batting in the top of the fifth when Clegg doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Despite the loss, the Blue Devils did collect 13 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Toronto had 16 hits on the way to victory.  Toronto got things moving in the first inning. Toronto scored two runs when Nick Sninchak doubled.

Lisbon evened things up at seven in the bottom of the fourth inning when an error scored one run for the Blue Devils.  Lisbon notched four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Lisbon was led by Nick MundyBlake Reynolds, and Tyler Toot, all driving in runs in the inning. Toronto scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Nate KaraffaTristan ThomasChetockLucas Gulezynski, and Karaffa all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Karaffa toed the rubber for Toronto. He lasted one inning, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero.  Josh Entrikin started the game for Lisbon. He went six and two-thirds innings, allowing 13 runs on 13 hits and striking out five. Garrett Cox threw one-third of an inning out of the bullpen.

Toronto smacked two home runs on the day. Karaffa put one out in the seventh inning. Clegg went for the long ball in the first inning.

Lisbon collected 13 hits on the day. Justin SweeneyCoxLogan BellToot, and Mundy all had multiple hits for the Blue DevilsSweeney went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Devils in hits. Lisbon didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brayden Flory had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

SIX RUN SEVENTH SEALS LISBON OVER BEAVER LOCAL

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- A six-run seventh inning led Lisbon to a 9-2 victory on Wednesday over Beaver Local. The big inning was thanks to a single by Nick Mundy, a sac fly by Justin Sweeney, by Brice Blackburn, and a double by Jaikep Entrikin.

In the first inning, The Blue Devils got their offense started with Josh Entrikin‘s sac fly scored one run for Lisbon.  Beaver evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning. Jackson grounded out, scoring one run.  Lisbon would pull away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Garrett Cox‘s sac fly scored one run for the Blue Devils. Then it was the big seventh that sealed the Beavers fate as Lisbon put up six runs in the seventh inning.

Sweeney earned the win for Lisbon. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out one and walking one. Entrikin threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Saltsman took the loss for Beaver. He allowed six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out four.

Tyler Graham started the game for Lisbon. He surrendered one run on three hits over three innings, walking one

Mundy led Lisbon with two hits in three at-bats.  While Saltsman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Beaver in hits. Beaver didn’t commit a single error in the field. Wolski had the most chances in the field with six.

THOMPSON DEALS BLUE DEVILS PAST TORONTO

Emma Thompson didn’t allow a single run as the Lisbon Blue Devils  defeated Toronto 6-0 on Wednesday. Thompson allowed just five hits.

The Blue Devils pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the sixth.

Lisbon fired up the offense in the second inning, when Mallory Gallo singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

A single by Reed in the first inning was a positive for Toronto.

Thompson was the winning pitcher for Lisbon. She allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine.

Anderson took the loss for Toronto. She went six innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out one.

Kaity Clark went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Blue Devils in hits.

VRABLE’S SET THE TABLE, LISBON ROLLS OVER TORONTO

TORONTO, OH- If you’re new to YSN’s softball coverage, there’s one thing you need to know: Lisbon is really good at playing softball.  Five hits from Justyce Vrable, and four hits from Kenedy Vrable helped lead the way for Lisbon over Toronto 20-7 on Tuesday.

Lisbon grabbed an early lead when they scored on a walk by Mya Emmerling with the bases loaded in the first inning, a sacrifice fly by Kaity Clark in the first inning, and a double by Justyce Vrable in the second inning.  In the bottom of the first inning, Toronto tied things up at two when Kinsey singled, scoring two runs.

Lisbon tallied seven runs in the third inning. Blue Devil batters contributing to the big inning included ClarkMcKenna DaileyTaylor DelandAutumn Oehlstrom, and Emmerling, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Emmerling was credited with the victory for Lisbon. She allowed seven hits and six runs over three innings, striking out three. Emma Thompson threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Anderson took the loss for Toronto. She went four and a third innings, allowing 14 runs on 15 hits and striking out three.

Lisbon launched one home run on the day when Justyce Vrable went for the long ball in the fifth inning.  The Lady Blue Devils racked up 21 hits on the day. VrableKenedy VrableClarkEmmerlingOehlstrom, and Deland all collected multiple hits for the Blue Machine.

Toronto tallied 11 hits. Anderson and Kinsey all managed multiple hits for Toronto. Anderson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Toronto in hits.

TORONTO RIDES TO VICTORY OVER DEVILS

TORONTO, OH- Lisbon had a tough time generating runs on Tuesday, dropping their game with Toronto 15-5.  The Devils got on the board in the first inning when Josh Entrekin grounded out, scoring a pair of runs.

Toronto responded and pulling away with four runs in the second inning. Nate Karaffa singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs and Nick Sninchak doubled, scoring two more.   Toronto scored five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Toronto was led by Karaffa and Sninchak, both sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Sninchak also got it done on the bump, and was the winning pitcher for Toronto. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out three. Tristan Thomas and Leasure entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Logan Bell took the loss for Lisbon.  The University of Akron commit lasted three innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out five.

Offensively, Lisbon tallied nine hits in the game. Garrett Cox and Justin Sweeney all managed multiple hits for The Blue DevilsSweeney

Toronto tallied ten hits. KaraffaChetock, and Sninchak each managed multiple hits for Toronto.  Karaffa led the way for Toronto with three hits in four at-bats. Toronto was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.  Chetock led Toronto with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.

CLARK THE SPARK FOR LADY DEVILS IN TOPPING TIGERS

LISBON, OH- Kaity Clark showed timely hitting on Saturday, driving in four on three hits to lead Lisbon past Wellsville 14-1 on Saturday. Clark drove in runs on a single in the first and a double in the third.

An early lead helped propel the Lady Devils to victory. Lisbon scored on a home run by Justyce Vrable, an error, the single by Clark, and a double by McKenna Dailey in the first inning.  Lisbon didn’t stop there as they put up eight runs in the third inning. Mallory GalloKenedy VrableMya EmmerlingEmma ThompsonClark, and Dailey each had RBIs in the big inning.

Taylor Deland led the Lisbon to victory in the circle. She allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Hunter Weekley took the loss for Wellsville. She lasted three innings, allowing nine hits and 14 runs.

Lisbon held an impromptu hit parade and had nine hits in the game. ClarkVrable, and Dailey each managed multiple hits for Lisbon.  Clark went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the gals in blue in the hit column.

DEVILS HOLD ON AS MINERVA MAKES LATE RUN

MINERVA, OH- Lisbon got out to a six-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 7-6 victory over Minerva on Saturday. The Lions tallied six runs in the failed comeback. Luke KimbleAlex KimbleEvan HertleCole Maley, and Dom Slentz all picked up RBIs in the rally.

Lisbon got on the board in the first inning. Logan Bell tripled, driving in one run.  The Blue Devils continued and tallied three runs in the second inning. Lisbon’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Nick Mundy and Garrett Cox and a double by Blake Reynolds.

Bell was credited with the victory for Lisbon. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over three innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Tyler Graham and Josh Entrikin entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Charlie Bolanz took the loss for Minerva. He went one and one-third innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out one.

Lisbon racked up ten hits in the game. MundyCox, and Tyler Toot each managed multiple hits. TootCox, and Mundy all had two hits to lead the team.

Slentz led Minerva with two hits in four at-bats.

BLUE BLANKS THE ‘LOO

WATERLOO, OH- Lisbon’s Garrett Cox had all the right stuff on Thursday, allowing zero runs and besting Waterloo by a score of 7-0.  Cox was nothing if he wasn’t efficient, as he surrendered zero runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.  Lisbon pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the fifth.

Lisbon’s biggest hit on the day was fired up the offense in the first inning. Blue Devil Senior Logan Bell drove in one when he doubled.  A single by Beans in the second inning was a positive for Waterloo.

Colbert took the loss for Waterloo. He went four innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out two.

Leading the way offensively for Lisbon was Jaikep Entrikin went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the team in hits.  Lisbon as a team finished with 8 knocks.  Waterloo tallied seven hits in the game. Huth and Beans all managed multiple hits for Waterloo.
