CORTLAND OH- In a thrilling volleyball showdown, Lakeview emerged victorious after a hard-fought four-set battle against South Range, with the final scores being 25-14, 28-30, 25-17, and 25-17. Both teams brought their A-game to the court, making it a memorable evening for volleyball enthusiasts.

Lakeview’s star player, Reagan Price, played a pivotal role in securing the victory with an outstanding performance. Price notched an impressive 24 kills, displayed her formidable defensive skills with 4 blocks, and served up 3 aces, leaving an indelible mark on the game.

Mallory Mailach showcased her remarkable setting abilities, recording a staggering 49 assists, ensuring her teammates had plenty of opportunities to shine on the offensive end. Meanwhile, Addy Allen was a defensive stalwart for Lakeview, digging out 23 crucial balls throughout the match.

The Girard team showcased their offensive prowess, with Bree Latell leading the charge with an impressive 21 kills, while Nico Cochran added 9 more to the tally. Bailey Walters orchestrated the offense brilliantly, contributing 33 assists and also making her presence felt at the service line with 23 service points and 9 aces. Defensively, Walters was equally exceptional, recording 14 digs which gave her a double double. Alexis Pieton, Brooke Perry, and Walters combined for 9 blocks, displaying a formidable wall at the net.

South Range, despite their resilient efforts, couldn’t maintain their early lead. Anna Toy and Maddie Mook notched 9 and 7 kills, respectively. Sarah Kuhns and Hayden Carey distributed the ball effectively, with 15 and 12 assists, while Anna Toy and Olivia Meli each contributed 2 aces. Anna Toy also shone defensively with 14 digs, while Julia Meli added 7 more.

Joined by the show’s host, DJ Yokley,  they delved into the intriguing dynamics of the team and Cam Carr Sr.’s role as a strong and vocal leader. Highlighted was a captivating aspect of their hype video, featuring his emphatic words that captivated listeners, especially the powerful line “listen to me, listen!” Seeing his image on the Jumbotron before hitting the field was a thrilling experience for both the players and the audience.

Discussing the impact of the video, Cam shared that such features helped unify the team, getting them pumped and focused on their collective mission. He extended gratitude to those who supported them, including the show’s host, and emphasized that each individual’s contribution played a crucial role in their journey.

Shifting to his role as a leader, Cam shared that strong leadership was pivotal for the team’s cohesion and success. He expressed the importance of having multiple leaders who could come together to guide the team, fostering unity and resilience. POLAND OH- South Range displayed an outstanding performance on the road, sweeping Poland in a decisive victory with set scores of 25-13, 25-8, and 25-23.

The visiting team’s prowess was undeniable, as they controlled the game from start to finish. Notable individual achievements underscored South Range’s dominance, with Hayden Carey tallying an impressive 14 assists. However, it was freshman Anna Toy who stole the spotlight, recording a double-double with 15 kills, 7 aces, and 14 digs. Maddie Mook contributed 6 kills and 4 aces, while Olivia Meli added 5 kills and 2 aces to the team’s remarkable performance.

On the other side, Poland’s efforts were evident through Izzy Greco’s 6 kills and 3 blocks, as well as Bella Khoury’s impressive 14 digs and Olivia Minehart’s 11 digs and 4 kills.
