CANFIELD, OH – Brady Crumbacher steps up this year as top dog for the South Range Raiders. Last year Crumbacher started for the Raiders at Cornerback being a lockdown corner and a huge success for the Raiders as they went on to win the State championship. Crumbacher has big plans this year for his team and knows they can go far in the playoffs. Crumbacher will be playing both ways this year. He will continue playing Corner, but for offense, Brady will be filling the big shoes of Shane Lindstrom and playing wide receiver. Crumbacher can not wait for the season to start. They opened up with their rivals The Springfield Tigers on August 18th at Springfield High School.
YSN’s own Chris Colucci who was very fortunate to sit down with his former teammate and talked to Brady about football and fun goofy questions. Crumbacher was asked, “To the people that say South Range can’t be where they were last year because they lost so many seniors?” He said “We are not trying to be the team we were last year. We are trying to be our own team.”

NORTH LIMA, OH- South Range Athletic Boosters are pleased to announce the completion of a state-of-the-art stadium extension. The expansion promises an enhanced experience for players, coaches, and fans alike.
The additions to Rominger Stadium boasts several exciting features designed to elevate the overall experience for spectators including: -Two new buildings, one housing a concession stand and Raider Team Shop. The other building includes restroom facilities to provide an improved game-day experience. -A spacious plaza has been built overlooking the field. It includes enough room for fans to socialize and congregate without having to miss any game time action. -Two new ticket booth buildings at our main entrance and a finished walkway under the grandstands.
The South Range Athletic Boosters are grateful to all the partners, sponsors, and community members who have supported this stadium extension project from its inception. Springfield’s Emma Sanders scored early to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game. Maddie Page followed that up with her first of 5 goals putting Springfield up 2-0 less than ten minutes in. Page and Sanders also each contributed with an assist. Springfield score often while getting goals from Kandall Maughan, Hannah Stoffer, Ella Perry, Macey Isaacson (first varsity goal), and Kristina Vecchione (first varsity goal). The Tigers added assists from Ava Vecchione, Sami Shafer, Maughan, Stouffer, Isaacson, and Cara Castor.
Keeper Emma Mills only had to make 2 saves but she gets the shut out, with 15 minutes of help from Ally Guerriero. A shout out goes to our defenders for locking down the Raiders attack (Ava and Kristina Vecchione, Sanders, Maughan, and Hallie Joyce.
South Range keeper Lilah Angus had 7 saves.

BELOIT OH- The Warriors volleyball team hosted South Range and Southeast in a tri match at West Branch High School to open the season. The Warriors defeated the Pirates from Southeast 25-20, 25-4 followed by a 25-21, 25-13 victory over South Range to move to 2-0 on the season.
In game one against Southeast, the Warriors were led by Kendelle Hoopes with 12 points and Isabel Martig with eight points. Martig also added 10 assists. Mikalyn Fitts had nine kills and Audrey Ring finished with five kills. Ragan Greeneisen was the defensive and receive leader.
In game two versus South Range, Martig again had a strong game with eight points and seven assists. Fitts and Olivia Showalter each had five kills for the winners. Greeneisen led the defensive and was receiving leader.
The Warriors next match will be Thursday, August 24th as the Boardman Spartans come to town.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH- On a night that the Springfield Tigers opened their brand new turf field, it was South Range who laid claim to it throughout the night. The defending State Champions concluded opening week with a decisive score of 41-14 in favor of the Raiders.
Right from the outset, the Raiders showcased their offensive prowess. At the 7:17 mark, Tristan Toy connected with Brady Crumbacher on a 19-yard touchdown pass, quickly putting South Range on the scoreboard at 6-0. The two-point conversion attempt was successful, with Jimmy Powell finding Dylan Smesko, extending the Raiders’ lead to 8-0.
The Raiders continued their offensive surge with a 31-yard touchdown run by Tristan Toy, extending their lead to 14-0. The point-after attempt was converted by Luke Starkey, further solidifying South Range’s dominance at 15-0 with 2 minutes and 6 seconds remaining.
Early in the second quarter, Blake Ewert added to the Raiders’ lead with a 3-yard touchdown run, putting South Range ahead 21-0. Luke Starkey’s successful extra point made it 22-0 in favor of the Raiders.
South Range’s offensive onslaught continued as Aidan Dominguez powered through for a 1-yard touchdown run, expanding their lead to 28-0. Despite a missed two-point conversion attempt, the Raiders’ lead remained unchallenged.
The Springfield Tigers managed to respond before halftime, as Dante Gentile recorded a 5-yard touchdown run, putting the Tigers on the scoreboard at 28-7 following Kaysen Kosek’s successful extra point.
As the clock wound down in the first half, Blake Ewert found the end zone once again with a 7-yard touchdown run, further solidifying South Range’s dominance with a score of 35-7 as Luke Starkey’s point-after attempt was good.
Heading into the fourth quarter, the Raiders held a commanding 35-7 lead over the Tigers.
Aidan Dominguez continued to impress with a 24-yard touchdown run, extending South Range’s lead to 41-7. Although the extra point was blocked, the Raiders maintained a strong advantage.
Springfield managed to narrow the margin with a 3-yard touchdown run by Wyatt Kuboff, accompanied by Kaysen Kosek’s successful extra point, bringing the score to 41-14.
South Range will open up their renovated stadium next week against Green, while Springfield will jump on the bus and head to Brookfield.

CANFIELD OH- South Range boys golf had an impressive showing on Wednesday in a tri match against both Poland and Lakeview. The Raiders ended at the top of the field when it was all said and done, sending a strong message to the other teams in the NE8.
Jack Carey was the low scorer of the day for the Raiders finishing with a 36. Griffin Pahanish was right behind his teammate finishing with a 37. Michael Garwacki shot a solid 38. Zander DiMuzio, and Luke Rohan both finished with a 42. Evan McGrath completed the Raider scoring with a 44.

As Rach stepped onto the practice field for the first time as head coach, he surely couldn’t help but feel the weight of the legacy left by his mentor and predecessor, Dan Yeagley. A man whose name had become synonymous with football greatness in the community, Yeagley had guided the Raiders to over 200 victories, and Rach had been privileged to witness the magic unfold firsthand for over a decade, both as a player and as a member of the coaching staff.
With boundless determination, Rach endeavored to carry on the tradition of excellence that Coach Yeagley had instilled in the team. As the new season kicks off, the South Range Raiders find themselves facing formidable opponents week after week.

With a dedicated and knowledgeable coaching staff behind him, he has the tools to mold this Raider team into a serious contender.
