TIGERS MAKE THE FINAL JUMP IN OVERTIME

HANOVERTON OH- In a hard-fought battle on Friday, Wellsville had to scratch and claw their way to an overtime victory over United, securing a 56-49 win. The Eagles dominated the extra frame with a 10-3 advantage.

Wellsville’s Tyrell Watkins led the scoring charge with an impressive 29 points, supported by Elijah Douglas with 11, and Richie Dowling contributing 7.

United’s effort was led by Luke Courtney with 17 points, closely followed by Trent Ellyson with 16. Jason Pratt and Loudon Stryffeler each added 6 points to the team’s total.

With this thrilling win, Wellsville (8-7) aims to build momentum as they travel to East Palestine on Tuesday. United (7-9) will look to bounce back on the road against Columbiana on Tuesday, as both teams continue to navigate through a competitive season.
