TIGERS POUNCE ON RESERVE

BERLIN CENTER OH- Springfield defeated Western Reserve 12-0 on Monday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Liam Wylie induced a groundout from Parker Reed to finish off the game.

Springfield got on the board in the first inning. Aaron Groner doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The Tigers notched five runs in the second inning. AJ Stallsmith, Kolten Ruark, and Parker Dobson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

One bright spot for Western Reserve was a single by Reed in the first inning.

Joey Becher got the win for Springfield. The righthander surrendered zero runs on two hits over two innings, striking out four and walking zero. Daylin Barber and Wylie entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Evan Slaven took the loss for Western Reserve. The hurler went two innings, allowing nine runs on six hits.

Stallsmith led Springfield with three hits in four at bats.
