TIGERS TAKE EXTRA INNING THRILLER WITH WALK OFF

Springfield took Tuesday’s game in dramatic fashion, with an 11-10 walk-off victory over Waterloo. The game was tied at ten with Springfield  batting in the bottom of the eighth when Nate LaBoy drew a walk, scoring one run.

Despite falling down by four runs in the fifth inning, Waterloo tried to fight back. They scored two runs on a single in the 7th inning.

Waterloo knotted the game up at ten in the top of the seventh inning, when an error scored one run.

The Tigers put up four runs in the fourth inning. Mitchell Seymour and Alex Rothwell powered the big inning with RBIs.

Waterloo scored four runs in the seventh inning. They scored their runs on a single.

Dylan Sheely was the winning pitcher for Springfield. Sheely lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while walking one. Kolten Ruark and Seymour entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Adam Kawecki started the game for Springfield. The hurler allowed six hits and six runs over four and two-thirds innings.

 

The Tigers  scattered nine hits in the game. Seymour and Vinny Woods each had multiple hits. Woods and Seymour each managed two hits to lead. AJ Stallsmith led Springfield with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.
