CANFIELD OH- South Range has asserted their dominance over area teams yet again in the 2021 softball season. The Raiders have been a mainstay with the top programs in the valley for over a decade. This season, they only brought two seniors to the table. However, one of those seniors is the highly regarded Bree Kohler. Bree has been in the circle giving other teams problems since her freshman season, she has also been committed to Youngstown State since her freshman year.

Kohler knew after the lost 2020 season, that this Raiders team would have a lot of faces that were new to the varsity level. In fact, they only returned 3 starters from their 2019 District Championship team. But the fact that she hasn’t put on the South Range uniform on since her sophomore season did not phase Bree. She has stepped up as a senior leader and has given the young South Range roster plenty of confidence.

South Range won the 2021 district championship in LaBrae over the three time defending champion Champion. Kohler hit the go ahead solo HR in the 5th, and then shut down the Flashes impressive offense the rest of the way. In the game before, Kohler threw a perfect game in South Range’s 10-0 win over Kirtland.

Kohler has put up fantastic numbers this year both in the circle and at the plate. She has started 16 games in the circle and has a record of 15-2. She has thrown 105.1 IP, and has an ERA of 1.19. Kohler has struck out 174, and only walked 17. At the plate Bree leads her team in many categories. Kohler is currently hitting .510 with 11 HR and 60 RBI. Of Bree’s 53 hits, 24 of them are extra base hits. She has 11 triples and 2 doubles. The district championship win over Champion gives Bree a total of 7 district championship medals spanning over 3 sports.
