IRISH ADD ANOTHER RUN RULE WIN TO THEIR COLLECTION

Paige Ogden didn’t allow a single run against Newton Falls, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Ursuline to a 10-0 victory on Tuesday

Ursuline secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fourth inning. Mia Opalick, Maris Barbato, Ogden , and Emily Holland each had RBIs in the frame.

The Irish got things started in the first inning. Julia Nutter singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Ursuline Lady Irish notched seven runs in the fourth inning. Opalick, Barbato, Ogden , and Holland all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

One bright spot for Newton Falls was a single by Olivia Koehrsen in the second inning.

Ogden got the start for Ursuline. The pitcher went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out six and walking zero.

Joe’l Hood was on the rubber for Newton Falls. The pitcher surrendered eight runs on 12 hits over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero.

The Irish tallied one home run on the day. Ogden went for the long ball in the fourth inning.

Ursuline had 14 hits in the game. Barbato, Ogden , Alyssa Sheely, and Holland all collected multiple hits. Barbato led with three hits in four at bats.
