CLIPPERS SMASH SOUTHERN

SALINEVILE OH- Columbiana defeated Southern 17-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Maryn Hepler got a strike out to finish off the game.

The Clippers was boosted by Caitlynn Pleska who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Pleska homered in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and doubled in the fourth.

Columbiana fired up the offense in the first inning, when Pleska homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Clippers put up 12 runs in the third inning. Hepler, Julia Rapp, Pleska, Cameron Perkins, Audrey Smith, and Alivia Bell each had RBIs.

Tori Long was the winning pitcher for the Clippers. The righthander allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Hepler threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Columbiana socked one home run on the day. Pleska had a four bagger in the first inning.

The Clippers totaled 21 hits. Pleska, Rapp, Hepler, Smith, Long, Alaina Johnston, Bell, and Perkins all managed multiple hits. Pleska went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Clippers in hits.
