LEOPARDS MAKE A STATEMENT BEFORE TOURNAMENT DRAW

CANFIELD OH- Louisville made a significant statement on the road on Wednesday, as they traveled to Canfield and emerged with a hard-fought 5-4 victory, holding off a late Cardinal rally.

Louisville’s offense was led by Bailee Griffith, who went 2-3 at the plate and drove in a run. Kenzie Denzer, Matti Benson, and Brooke Haren each contributed with an RBI for Louisville.

On the mound, Anna Sirohman pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 3 batters

Canfield fought hard, with Jenna Triveri and Sydney Lutz each collecting 2 hits and scoring a run. Malena Toth reached base twice and scored a run, while Leah Figueroa made a big impact with a home run and 3 RBI.

Toth also pitched a strong game for Canfield, going the distance with 7 innings pitched, allowing 6 hits and just 1 earned run while striking out an impressive 11 batters and issuing no walks.

Despite Canfield’s late rally, Louisville’s early offensive production and solid pitching from Sirohman were enough to secure the narrow victory on the road, making a statement in the process.
