POLAND MAKES THE LONG TRIP WORTH IT
JEFFERSON OH – Poland Seminary Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-1 on the season with a 6-0 defeat of Northeast 8 rival Jefferson Falcons. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-0 in conference play. Katie McDonald picked-up her 7th win of the season fanning 7 batters and scattering 4 hits over seven innings for the shutout.
Poland’s offense was led by junior shortstop Mary Brant who went 2-2 with a triple and an RBI. Freshman catcher Leanna Boccieri added two hits including a double and an RBI. Katie McDonald also doubled to help her cause on the mound.
For Jefferson Sammie Speakman collected the loss on the mound scattering 10 hits and 7 strikeouts over seven innings. Allison Hill hit a double to lead the Falcon’s offense.
The two conference foes battle tomorrow at 5pm at Poland Seminary’s new softball complex.
