RAIDERS FINISH ATOP THE NE8

CANFIELD, OH – South Range defeated Lakeview 10-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Billy Skripac started the game and Trey Pancake finished off the game. The Raiders secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. South Range’s offense in the inning came from singles by Aidan English and Garrett Sheets, by Mike Perry, an error on a ball put in play by Brandon Mikos, and a double by Billy Skripac. Perry, English, Skripac, Sheets, and Mikos each had RBIs in the big inning.

One bright spot for Lakeview was a single by Cal Rinck in the second inning. Skripac was credited with the victory for South Range. The righty went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking zero. Pancake threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Stephen Pavlansky took the loss for Lakeview. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and ten runs while striking out four.

South Range Raiders Varsity racked up nine hits in the game. English and Skripac each had multiple hits for South Range. Skripac and English all had two hits to lead the Raiders. South Range was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Pancake made the most plays with seven.

The Raiders have now won back to back NE8 titles (2019) and are 26-2 inside the conference in that stretch.
