SALEM COMPLETES THE COMEBACK

SALEM OH- The Salem Quakers after a challenging start to their season were looking to flip the script and get back to their winning ways Tuesday as they hosted Carrollton.

Quakers starting pitcher Gavin Wilms was all business as he turned in a fantastic performance going 6 innings striking out 9 in the 3-2 victory over Carrollton.  The Warriors wasted little time as they struck for 2 runs on an opposite field home run in the bottom of the 1st.  Wilms provided his teammates the opportunity to get back into the game, holding Carrollton scoreless the rest of the way.

The Quakers offense would respond in the bottom of the 5th as Brock Young started the rally with a lead off single.  Donnie Oesch would follow with an RBI double trimming the deficit in half 2-1.  Jackson Johnson would come through with a clutch 2 out RBI single plating Oesch and knotting the game at 2-2.  Salem would complete the comeback in the bottom half of the 6th as Carson Rhodes came through with the go ahead RBI providing the much needed 3-2 victory.

Salem (2-3) next takes their show to Myrtle Beach for three games, the first game on the trip is slated for 12pm on Thursday.
