SALEM GETS REVENGE IN EXTRA INNINGS

BELOIT OH-  Salem took the lead late in the game in a 17-10 victory over West Branch on Wednesday. The game was tied at ten with Salem batting in the top of the ninth when Blaize Exline singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Carson Rhodes led Salem to victory by driving in four runs. Rhodes went 3-for-5 at the plate. Rhodes drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the fourth, and a double in the ninth.

In the first inning, the Quakers got their offense started. Rhodes singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, West Branch tied things up at ten. Anthony Perry hit a line drive that was caught, scoring one run.

West Branch scored four runs in the sixth inning. Their big inning was driven by a walk by Christian Starcher, a triple by Boston Mullinix, and a sac fly by Beau Alazaus.

Darius Beck was credited with the victory for Salem. The righty surrendered one run on zero hits over three innings, striking out two. Cyle Burt and Exline entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Aaron Tucker took the loss for West Branch. The hurler went four innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out two.

Rhodes started the game for Salem. The pitcher surrendered five runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out four.

Garrison Martin started the game for West Branch. Martin lasted four innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out one

The Quakers had 19 hits in the game. Corey Riesen, Exline, Brock Young, Rhodes, and Cayden Burt each managed multiple hits. Riesen led with four hits in five at bats.

West Branch racked up ten hits. Mullinix, Nick Wilson, Perry, and Zach Peters each had multiple hits.
