AVALANCHE COMES THROUGH LATE TO WIN

STRUTHERS OH-  A run a piece in the 6th and 7th innings were enough to grab Avalanche a tight 3-2 win over Whiting Roll-Offs.

Peyton Koss compiled multiple hits for Avalanche going 2-4 with a RBI.  Nolan Reichard went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Richie Peterson went 1-2 with a walk and a RBI.  Whiting’s pitching couldn’t retire Reese Henderson as he went 1-1 with 2 walks, and a run scored.

Jake Mattocks earned the win on the hill for Avalanche. He threw 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 3 Whiting hitters.

Ben Miller went 1-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Mitch Lang also went 1-3 with a RBI.  Nick Parrotto went 1-3 with a run scored.

Grant Melder was charged with the loss despite pitching well. He threw 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 10.

 

LATE SCORE LIFTS WHITING TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- With the score tied at 3-3 in the 6th inning Whiting Roll Offs scored a run in the 6th to come out on top of the Avalanche 4-3.

Tyler Kamerer had a perfect day on offense for Whiting. He went 4-4 with 2 RBI.  Marc Conti went 1-3 on the day with another RBI.  He also scored a run. Zac Herb went 1-3 with a run scored. Benny Dottle mirrored those numbers and added a walk.

 

Herb secured the win on the mound for Whiting. He pitched a complete game giving up 3 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 8 batters.

Rufus Byler was a bright spot for the Avalanche offense. He went 1-2 with a RBI.  Landin Esposito and Logan Ayres both went 1-3 on the night. Isaac Criss went 1-3 as well, and he also scored a run.

Ayres was charged with the loss on the hill. He went 3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits.

AVALANCHE ALL OVER ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche left nothing to chance on Wednesday night as they pounded Athletix 12-1 in 18U Class B action.

Landon Esposito was a thorn in the side of Athletix pitching going 2-4 and knocking in a pair of RBI.  He also scored a run.  Derek Franken also had multiple hits as he went 2-4 with a RBI and run scored.  Mason Jones made the most out of a 1-4 night grabbing 3 RBI. Rufus Byler went 1-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

Jaret Boyer notched the win for Avalanche going 6 innings on the bump giving up just 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 3.

Nate Fleming was a bright spot for the Athletix offense. He went 2-3. LJ Evans went 1-2 on the night.  Cam Hollobaugh walked and collected his team’s sole RBI.

Nate Ostas was charged with the loss on the mound. He went 3 innings and gave up 4 runs on 3 hits. He struck out 1.

AVALANCHE OFFENSE RUNS AWAY FROM EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche had zero troubles scoring on Tuesday night in Class B 16U action. Their bats were alive and well in a 18-6 win over Eagle Wear.

Richie Preston drove in the most runs for the Avalanche offense. He went 1-3 with a run scored and 3 RBI.  Reese Henderson was on fire going 3-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. DJ Donatelli went 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and 2 RBI. Julian Trott went 2-2 with 3 runs scored and a RBI. Peyton Koss went 1-2 and tied the team lead in RBI with 3.

Aiden Bowser picked up the win toeing the rubber for Avalanche. He went 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and striking out 4.

Eagle Wear still had a solid offensive output. He went 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Alex Zordich went 1-3 with 2 RBI.

Eagle Wear pitchers did combine for 8 strike outs on the night.

FALCONS WALK OFF AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- It was a pitcher’s duel on tap on Wednesday in Class B action. Astro Falcons and Avalanche found themselves tied at 1 in the 7th but the Falcons were able to walk it off 2-1.

Kolten Ruark went 1-2 with a RBI for the Falcons offense. Michael Patellis also went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Jake Schneider had multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI. Bo Fornataro went 1-3 with a run scored.

Ruark was rewarded with a win for the Falcons. He threw 3 innings of no hit baseball. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

Richie Preston had a perfect day at the plate for Avalanche. He went 1-1 with a walk and a RBI. Jake Mattocks and Peyton Koss both went 1-3.

Preston pitched well despite being tagged with the loss for Avalanche. He went 6 innings and gave up 1 earned run on 6 hits. He struck out 3.

AVALANCHE COME BACK ON BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- It was a back and forth tug of war matchup on Tuesday night in 16U Class B action between Avalanche and Ballistic Baseball. Avalanche took an early 4-1 lead, but then Ballistic took it back 5-4. After Ballistic added one more in the 6th, Avalanche struck for 3 runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead for good 7-6.

Julian Trott went 1-2 for Avalanche with a RBI. Lucas Cummings went 1-1 with a RBI on the day. Keegan Balla also collected a RBI for the Avalanche’s offense.

Hatden Scarnack picked up the win for the Avalanche as he threw a scoreless 7th after the lead was secured.

Mathew Lindsey went 1-3 while knocking in 2 runs for Ballistic. Tommy Groner had a perfect day at the plate going 1-1 with a walk and a run scored. He also collected a RBI.

Dustin Coss pitched 4 innings for Ballistic. He threw 4 innings and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits. He walked a pair.

AVALANCHE STONEWALL BALLISTIC’S OFFENSE

STRUTHERS OH- The pitching on both sides of the Avalanche vs Ballistic 18U Class B game on Monday night was impressive. However, it was Avalanche that stood tall and finished the shut out Ballistic 2-0.

It was a 2 run 3rd inning for Avalanche that made the difference. Mason Jones went 2-3 with a RBI. Logan Ayres went 1-3 and a run scored, he also knocked in a RBI. Alarik Sierra went 1-2 with a run scored.

Jaret Boyer was lights out on the mound for Avalanche. He worked all 7 innings and gave up 0 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 2.

Anthony Koulianos went 1-2 for Ballistic, and so did Justin Fell, Dustin Horn, and Will Morrow. Isaac Schleich walked twice.

Morrow did not pitch badly for Ballistic. He took the tough luck loss. He went 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 2.

AVALANCHE COMES DOWN ON DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche scored in four seperate innings on Sunday as their offense led them to a huge 8-2 win over Dura Edge in 18U Class B action.

It was Cam Caldararo that shined the brightest for Avalanche. He had a perfect day at the plate going 3-3 with 2 RBI. Jaret Boyer went 1-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Mason Jones also collected a RBI going 1-4 on the day as well.

Justin Shank went the distance on the mound for Avalanche. He threw 7 innings giving up 2 ER on 6 H. He struck out 5 and walked 3.

Zack Leonard had a good day at the dish for Dura Edge. He went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Kyle Yost went 1-1 with a run scored. Kris Scandy went 1-3 with a walk.

Jake Grdic suffered the loss for Dura Edge. He went 6 innings and gave up 4 ER on 10 H. He struck out 5 and walked none.

CREEKSIDE COMES OUT ON TOP IN PITCHER’S DUEL WITH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Scoring was at a premium on Friday night in 16U Class B action between Creekside and Avalanche. Creekside got the clutch scoring and managed to win 2-1.

Payton Zupko went 1-3 for Creekside. He scored a run and tacked on a RBI. Kaden Anthony went 1-4 with a RBI as well. Jack Davis got Creekside’s third hit of the day going 1-4.

Alex Nicholson went the distance on the rubber for Creekside. He pitched all 8 innings and only gave up 1 hit. He didn’t give up any free passes, or earned runs, and he struck out 6.

Julian Trott got Avalanche’s only hit of the day. He went 1-3. Avalanche’s only run was scored by Peyton Koss.

Richie Preston went toe to toe with Creekside pitching well on the mound. He threw 6 innings and gave up 1 ER on 2 H. He struck out 9 and walked 3.

AVALANCHE FINISHES STRONG TO ROLL OVER ATHLETICS

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche scored 8 runs in the final two innings to smite A2Z Athletics on Thursday night in Class B Action.

Peyton Koss went 2-4 at the dish for the Avalanche. He knocked in a RBI and scored a run. Reese Henderson went 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Keegan Balla didn’t record a hit, but did manage to get credited with 2 RBI. Jake Mattocks went 1-3.

Balla was credited with the win for Avalanche on the mound. He threw one inning and gave up 1 earned run and 0 hits. He struck out two and walked two.

Johnny Cambert led the Athletics with 2 RBI on a 1-2 day. He also walked and scored a run. CJ Frasco went 1-3 with a RBI. Gabe Saunders walked once and scored a pair of runs.

Brendan Ray took the loss for the Athletics. He threw 2 innings on the mound. Ray gave up 0 ER on 3 H. He struck out 3 and walked none.
