YSN LEGENDS OF THE PAST: AARON WALKER

Arguably one of the most successful baseball players to emerge from Columbiana County, Ohio was the 6’3 South Paw from East Palestine, Aaron Walker.  His high school numbers as a Bulldog were eye-popping with being a 3-time Tri-County All-Star, First-Team All Ohio in 2000 (15-1 record) and if all of that wasn’t enough, earning a Division 1 scholarship to join the Georgia Tech Baseball Team.

All of that aside, Walker was able to live out his dreams of being selected in the 30th round of the 2004 MLB draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

When all was said and done, AW decided it was time to give back to the game he loved by taking up coaching.  Walker began with his high school rival, Columbiana Clippers, before returning to the Brown and White where he is still today.  Walker and his father, Doug, are assistant coaches for the Bulldogs- and enjoy not only working with the student-athletes but working alongside each other.

We caught up with the lefty for our latest edition of YSN Legends of the Past: Aaron Walker.
