EAST PALESTINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH TONY FOSTER (EP 6)

A big home victory for the Bulldogs at home last week that keep hopes alive for another EOAC Championship!  The Bulldogs were able to dial up the offense and keep Leetonia without a score in Week 7, and now turn their attention to Toronto this week!

We caught up with Head Bulldog, Tony Foster to discuss the high points of last week’s victory as well as what the task at hand is against the Knights.

What’s the scouting report for the week?  What does the coaching staff do to maintain focus on the field?  What’s Coach Foster’s most treasured football memory?

All that and more on this week’s East Palestine Coach’s Corner with Tony Foster!

BENDER FAR FROM BROKEN

Imagine the difficulty of not playing a sport for three years of your high school career, and deciding to go out for the most popular sport in school your senior year!  The emotions that must go into a decision like that could be excruciating for the normal teenager.  However, the cool, calm, and collect Senior at East Palestine took everything in stride, then took a starting spot at wide receiver this year.

Dan Bender isn’t the rule.  In fact, he’s the exception when it comes to his athletic prowess.  Bender’s skill on the field is only trumped by his manners and kindness off of it.  A young man with strong values, and a strong work ethic has built his opportunity for a grand finale at EPHS.  Some of the pressure he faces would be enough to break most student-athletes, but for Bender, it’s just another day at the office.

Our Dan Figley catches up with the EP Standout Receiver, and DB in this week’s East Palestine Player Profile: BENDER FAR FROM BROKEN.

EAST PALESTINE COACH’S CORNER WITH TONY FOSTER (EP 5)

East Palestine was the hard-luck loser in last week’s match-up with Southern, and look to bounce back on Homecoming against EOAC Rival-Leetonia.  It’s been quite the roller coaster thus far this season for Coach Foster and the Dogs.  Hope is still lingering though in East Palestine, with hopes that the Bulldogs can win out and make their case for Week 11.

This week we sit down with Coach and discuss the difficulties to keep focus, as well as how flag football and other versions of football may effect the varsity game in the years to come.

Sit back, and enjoy Episode 5 of East Palestine Coach’s Corner with Tony Foster.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?

A Student-Athlete’s senior year can be very defining for them if they allow it to be.  For East Palestine’s Noah Brown, he’s used the last 3 years as a springboard for his grand finale as a Bulldog.  Brown serves as one of the big run-stoppers on the Bulldog defense, and continues to be one of the top leaders for the brown and white.

Noah also serves as the Captain of the wrestling team, and has leaned on his experiences on the mat to take the steps necessary to help make splash plays in the 2018 campaign.

What’s Noah’s favorite food?  His biggest influence?  His favorite superhero?

Find out all that and more as our Dan Figley sits down with Noah for this week’s East Palestine Player Profile: WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?

DETERMINATION IS RECIPE FOR COOK

After another obstacle faced last Friday against Southern Local, East Palestine finds themselves in unfamiliar territory.  One that has them in playoff mentality in week 7.

However, the good news for the Bulldogs is they continue to gain health along the way.  Especially in one of their key players, Colton Cook!

Cook suffered a broken collarbone earlier this year in a passing scrimmage that has held him out half the year, but Cook’s determination to get healthy, and get back on the field shows exactly the mentality the Dogs must have going into the final month of the regular season: one day at a time.

Our Tim Figley caught up with Colton Cook following practice, and gets inside the huddle for this week’s East Palestine Player Profile: DETERMINATION IS RECIPE FOR COOK

EAST PALESTINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH TONY FOSTER (EP 4)

The Bulldogs put together a big week despite the weather.  The Dogs caged the Wellsville Tigers in big fashion to get their first conference win in 2018.

Coach Foster and the Dog Pound are ready to be road warriors again, this time they’re headed south to the Wigwam of Southern Local!

Can the Bulldogs build a winning streak on the shoulders of the undefeated Indians?  What’s the main focus on each side of the ball for the brown and white?  What’s Coach’s favorite vacation spot?

Find out all that and more on this week’s Coach’s Corner with Tony Foster (EP 4)

LOCKED ON BROCK

It isn’t often that a young man can step up and be a utility player on both sides of the football.  For East Palestine’s Brock Cheurco, it’s just another day at the office.

The Bulldog senior has been used in several different roles this year and has even switched jersey numbers to reflect the changes.  Brock started the season wearing 31, and has since flipped to a more traditional blocking number at 63.

The most impressive part of the diversity Cheurco shows doesn’t stop between the lines, as Brock is very successfully spread across his education as well.  A young man with a multitude of excellence with room for growth?  Look out!

Our Dan Figley caught up with Brock prior to the Wellsville game and gets inside the helmet, as we get to know the EP standout a bit better in this week’s Gorby’s East Palestine Player Profile: LOCKED ON BROCK!

WALKING THE WALK

There’s much confusion about the identity of the 2018 East Palestine Bulldog Football Team.  It’s been a roller coaster ride so far for Coach Foster and the Dogs thus far, and with eyes still firmly placed on the postseason, the gator closest to the boat is EOAC play and another conference title.

There’s one young man who stands on the front lines and is ready for the challenge of the back-half of this task.  He doesn’t do much in the way of trash talking, but he certainly backs up any talking with walking the walk.  Quite simply: East Palestine Senior, Cameron Walker has the work ethic that gets things done.  His blue-collar mentality of dedication and hard work will continue to help the Bulldogs right the ship, and sail toward continued success this year.

Our Tim Figley had the chance to sit down and talk the talk with a young man who continues to get it done every down.  YSN’s East Palestine Player Profile is Cameron Walker: WALKING THE WALK.

EAST PALESTINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH TONY FOSTER (EP 3)

A tough road loss to United for the Bulldogs in Week 4 put a kink in the plans to start strong in the EOAC, but the Bulldogs will look to get the train back on the track against Wellsville.  Coach Foster preached consistency in the first weeks CC, and talks about if the talking led to walking, and where the Bulldogs turn their attention back to their winning ways in Week 5.

YSN’s DJ Yokley sits down with Coach Foster to get inside the huddle and all your in-depth Bulldog coverage this week on EP Coach’s Corner with Tony Foster (EP 3.)

EP’S MAN OF STEELE

It’s no surprise that there’s a buzz in Bulldogville over the success the football team has had the past few years.  East Palestine is pushing to get back to their winning ways in 2018, and after a tough open to their EOAC schedule, they look to right the ship against Wellsville.

Leading the Brown and White is a young man whose life revolved around football since he could pick one up.  EP’s Parker Sherry has been patiently waiting for his time to shine, and that time is now upon us.  Sherry is a leader and a magician on the field, but what’s even more impressive is the work he does outside the lines and in the community.

Parker prides himself on helping the younger generation of Bulldogs grow, and be excited about the game of football, and all it has to offer.

Before he makes any major announcements about his future, Sherry wants to focus in on the present.  A young man whose middle name speaks volumes in the reflection of his character, and work ethic.
