EAST PALESTINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH TONY FOSTER

EAST PALESTINE, OH- A long year in 2020 led to a short offseason for East Palestine, and as the season begins a week earlier than usual, EP Lead Dog Tony Foster feels there is still work to do. Nevertheless, Foster will lead the Brown and White on the road to start the season in Malvern where the Bulldogs will tread on an unfamiliar territory to begin the 2021 campaign.

YSN’s DJ Yokley was invited into the lovely home of the Foster Family for a late-night breakdown of the summer that was, and the season that can be in Bulldog Country. What new players will step up this season? What leaders will emerge? How are the Cleveland Browns involved with the football team? Where did the team get a new water cooler?

All those questions are touched on and more in this edition of East Palestine Coach’s Corner with Tony Foster.

CARDINALS TAKE HOME TROPHY IN THE RETURN OF THE RIVALRY

*Contributed by Richie Juliano

POLAND, OH – The battle of 224 returned to the gridiron on Thursday night for the first time since 2018. This meeting was extra special as brothers Tom and Mike Pavlansky coached against eachother  for the first time ever.

The Bulldogs received the football to start the game and put together a great drive over 8 minutes long, but had to settle for a field goal. The Cardinals would later on score a touchdown in the first quarter on a touchdown reception from Gavin Ramun. The Bulldogs came back with another field goal to make it 7-6 with 50 seconds to go in the first half. The Cardinals would take advantage of good field position on the kickoff, and knocked in 3 points as time expired to end the first half leading 10-6.

In the second half Canfield jumped on the board first with a Broc Lowry rushing touchdown to make the score 17-6 in the 3rd quarter. Poland would respond with an 8 yard touchdown pass by Jack Fulton, but would come up empty on the 2 point conversion. Canfield would score one more time late in the fourth quarter on another Lowry touchdown run to put the ballgame away. Canfield would come out victorious in the rivalry game by a final of 24-12.

The Cardinals host Dover next Friday at home, while Poland hosts Louisville. You can catch both games on YSN.
