RAIDERS KEEP THEIR FOOT ON THE GAS

STRUTHERS OH-  South Range defeated Struthers 12-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Reagan Irons induced a groundout from Ava Hall to finish off the game.

South Range put up four runs in the fifth inning. Gretchen Bartels, Kelly Szolek, and Samantha Susany each had RBIs in the big inning.

One bright spot for Struthers was a single by Emma Morris in the first inning.

Susany was the winning pitcher for The Raiders. Susany lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero. Irons threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Nicolina Pezzone took the loss for the Wildcats. The pitcher lasted four and a third innings, allowing ten hits and ten runs while striking out six.

South Range tallied 12 hits on the day. Madison Dado, Susany, and Irons each managed multiple hits. Susany and Dado each managed three hits to lead. South Range was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Szolek had the most chances in the field with seven.

SOUTH RANGE FINDS A WAY TO BREAK THROUGH

NORTH RIDGEVILLE OH-

South Range was able to salvage their Saturday and beat beat Mt. Vernon 5-2.

The Raiders got on the board in the first inning. They scored two runs when Samantha Susany homered.

Susany was the winning pitcher for South Range. She surrendered two runs on five hits over four and a third innings, striking out five and walking one. Juli Stachowicz threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Stachowicz recorded the last eight outs to earn the save.

South Range tallied one home run on the day. Susany went for the long ball in the first inning.

The Raiders tallied eight hits on the day. Susany and Kelly Szolek each racked up multiple hits. Susany went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.

RAIDERS DROP ANOTHER TOUGH ONE

NORTH RIDGEVILLE OH-

South Range lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat to Broadview Heights on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Broadview Heights batting in the top of the fifth when a sacrifice bunt scored one run.

In the first inning, South Range got their offense started when Jamie Feren grounded out, scoring one run.

Juli Stachowicz took the loss for the Raiders. The lefty lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and four runs while striking out four.

South Range racked up ten hits. Feren and Reagan Irons all managed multiple hits. Irons and Feren each collected two hits to lead.

SOUTH RANGE BOUNCES BACK IN A BIG WAY

CANFIELD OH-  The Raiders defeated Hubbard 7-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Aidan English struck out Noah Adamson to finish off the game.

The Raiders secured the victory thanks to five runs in the first inning. Raiders’s offense in the inning came from a single by Logan Cormell, an error on a ball put in play by Tyson Tarajack, and a double by Stevie Rohan.

South Range opened up scoring in the first inning, when Michael Markulin doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Hubbard was a single by Ben Wilcox in the first inning.

Tarajack earned the win for the Raiders. The pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking zero. English threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Tarajack led the Raiders with two hits in three at bats. South Range was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Cormell made the most plays with seven.

RAIDER BATS GO QUIET

South Range fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-0 loss to North Ridgeville on Friday. North Ridgeville took the lead on an error in the first inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. North Ridgeville pitchers struck out 15, while South Range sat down five.

A single by Reagan Irons in the first inning was a positive for the Raiders.

Katie Barnhart earned the victory in the circle for North Ridgeville. The hurler went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out 15.

Samantha Susany took the loss for South Range. The righty lasted six innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out five and walking one.

Madison Dado, Irons, and Jamie Feren each collected one hit to lead South Range.

Barnhart went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead North Ridgeville in hits.

HUBBARD SHUTS OUT THE RAIDERS

HUBBARD OH- Ian Wukelich shut down South Range, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Hubbard Eagles to a 2-0 victory on Thursday.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Wukelich struck out eight, while South Range pitchers sat down 13.

Hubbard got things moving in the second inning, when Ben Wilcox drew a walk, scoring one run.

One bright spot for South Range was a single by Billy Skripac in the second inning.

Wukelich got the win for the Eagles. The pitcher allowed six hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Joe Aey took the loss for South Range. The hurler allowed one hit and two runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Alex Yoder and Gabe Rusnak each collected one hit to lead Hubbard. The Eagles didn’t commit a single error in the field. Johnny Reyes had the most chances in the field with nine.

RAIDERS THROW A COMBINED NO HITTER IN JEFFERSON

JEFFERSON OH- South Range’s two pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, as they defeated Jefferson Area 11-0 on Thursday. Juli Stachowicz got a strike out to get the last out of the game.

The Raiders opened up scoring in the first inning. Samantha Susany singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

South Range tallied three runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by a groundout by Kelly Szolek, a fielder’s choice by Reagan Irons, and an error on a ball put in play by Giada Pauline.

Susany was the winning pitcher for South Range. The righty went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out four. Stachowicz threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

South Range scattered 11 hits in the game. Szolek, Madison Dado, and Susany each had multiple hits. Susany, Dado, and Szolek each collected two hits to lead.

RAIDERS POWER SETS THE TONE

CANFIELD OH- At the start of Tuesday, 4 teams were in a log jam at the top of the NE8. South Range, Hubbard, Poland, and Lakeview all came into the day with 1 league loss. Well, that was going to change with Hubbard and South Range clashing. It was a game that the Raiders grabbed control of quickly, and never let it go. They’d cruise their way to a 7-0 victory.

The Raiders power set the tone for their offense. In the first inning, after Reagan Irons drew a 4 pitch walk Kelly Szolek blasted a 2 run shot over the wall. Sam Susany was not to be out done as she stepped to the plate and followed up Szolek’s bomb with one of her own.  Szolek would end the day 2-4, while Susany put in a 2-3 day at the office. Maddie Dado also chipped in a RBI on a 2-4 day. Jamie Feren went 1-3 with a run scored.

Juli Stachowicz dazzled on the mound to keep Hubbard’s offense quiet. She went 7 innings only giving up 2 hits, and striking out 8.

Hayley Croyle took the loss in the circle for Hubbard. She went 6 innings and gave up 4 earned runs on 7 hits. She struck out 10, and walked 4.

South Range will travel to Jefferson to finish their series with the Falcons on Thursday.

RAIDERS BLAST STOW TO EARN DOUBLE HEADER SPLIT

STOW OH- Juli Stachowicz threw a shutout to lead South Range past Stow-Munroe Falls 10-0 on Saturday.

South Range secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. Madison Dado, Samantha Susany, Stachowicz, and Jamie Feren all drove in runs in the frame.

The Raiders tallied six runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Dado, Stachowicz, and Feren and a walk by Susany.

Stachowicz was the winning pitcher for South Range. The lefthander allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking zero.

The Raiders totaled ten hits in the game. Kelly Szolek, Dado, and Feren each collected multiple hits. Feren, Dado, and Szolek all had two hits to lead. South Range didn’t commit a single error in the field. Szolek had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
