LIFE’S A BEACH; RANGE RAKING ON THE ROAD

MYRTLE BEACH, SC- For the second day in a row, the Lady Raiders of South Range had a late push to seal victory on the beach.  A five-run seventh inning led South Range to an 8-1 victory on Thursday. The offensive onslaught by South Range was led by Jamie Feren, Juli Stachowicz, Samantha Susany, Kelly Szolek, and Gretchen Bartels, who all drove in runs.

The Lady Raiders fired up the offense in the second inning. Bartels drove in one when she singled.

South Range put up five runs in the seventh inning. South Range Raiders Varsity’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Feren, Stachowicz, and Bartels, a triple by Susany, and Szolek.

Susany took the win for the Burgundy and Gold. The pitcher went seven innings strong, allowing one run on two hits, striking out eight, and walking one.

Gross took the loss for Madison. She went seven innings, allowing eight runs on 15 hits, striking out two, and walking zero.

South Range racked up 15 hits in the game. Reagan Irons, Szolek, Madison Dado, Bartels, Feren, and Stachowicz each racked up multiple hits offensively. Irons led South Range with three hits in four at-bats.

WEST BRANCH WINS OFFENSIVE SHOWCASE OVER MINERVA

BELOIT, OH- Sydney Mercer came to the ballpark and meant business on Thursday, tallying four hits and leading West Branch to an 18-10 win over Minerva. Mercer singled in the second, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and doubled in the sixth.

An early lead helped propel the Lady Warriors to victory. West Branch scored on a single by Ryley Pittman in the first inning, a double by Addi Craven in the first inning, a single by Mati Hawk in the first inning, a single by Mercer in the second inning, a single by Pittman in the second inning, and a double by Tori McKay in the second inning.

West Branch pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Mercer singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, Pittman singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and McKay doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

The Lady Warriors tallied five runs in the sixth inning. Mercer, Pittman, and Skyler Greeneisen powered the big inning with RBIs.

McKay led things off on the rubber for West Branch. McKay surrendered five runs on six hits over three innings, walking one.

Cress was on the rubber for Minerva. The hurler allowed 11 hits and nine runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Murray and Lucas entered the game as relief, throwing three and two-thirds innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

West Branch smacked one home run on the day. Greeneisen had a four-bagger in the sixth inning.

The Green Machine had 24 hits. Pittman, Josie Milliken, Mercer, Hawk, Ragan Greeneisen, Craven, Greeneisen, and McKay each collected multiple hits for West Branch. Pittman went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead the victors.

Minerva racked up 17 hits on the day. Brunner, Shafer, Klingensmith, Cress, Murray, and Hillard each racked up multiple hits for Minerva.

DAILEY DOUBLE; LADY DEVILS SCORCH WELLSVILLE

LISBON, OH- Mckenna Dailey came the ballpark and meant business on Wednesday, driving in four on three hits to lead Lisbon past Wellsville 24-4 on Wednesday. Dailey drove in runs on a grand slam in the fourth.

An early lead helped propel the Lady Devils to victory. Lisbon scored on a walk by Justyce Vrable, a single by Parker Henthorne, an error, and a single by Marah Householder in the first inning.

Lisbon scored 11 runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught was led by VrableMorgan LivelyMickenzie ShafferLexi KellyMya Emmerling, and Dailey, who all drove in runs.

Emmerling was the winning pitcher.   The righty surrendered four runs on three hits over five innings, striking out five.

Rayson took the loss for Wellsville. The bulldog surrendered 19 runs on 20 hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.

Lisbon saw the ball well today, racking up 21 hits in the game. VrableHouseholderHenthorneShafferDaileyKyrstin Reckner, and Lively all managed multiple hits for the Lady Devils. DaileyShafferHenthorneHouseholder, and Vrable all had three hits to lead the team.

Rayson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wellsville in hits.

SUSANY GOES YARD; SOUTH RANGE ICES LEWISVILLE

MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Juli Stachowicz had all the right stuff on Wednesday for South Range Raiders Varsity, allowing zero runs and besting Lewisville (SC) High School by a score of 14-0

Samantha Susany led South Range to victory by driving in four runs. Susany went 2-for-4 at the plate. Susany drove in runs on a single in the first and a home run in the seventh.

South Range fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jamie Feren grounded out, scoring one run.

The Lady Raiders tallied nine runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Riley DeCiancio and Jayli Wilt, a walk by Giada Pauline, a home run by Susany, and a groundout by Feren.

A single by J Miller in the second inning was a positive for Lewisville.

Stachowicz pitched South Range to victory. Stachowicz lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 13.

Sarah Owens took the loss for Lewisville. Owens surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

South Range collected 14 hits. Madison Dado, Reagan Irons, Kelly Szolek, and Susany all managed multiple hits for South Range. Irons and Dado each collected three hits to lead the team. The Lady Raiders tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Dado led the way with two.

LADY RAIDERS BOOK FIRST WIN ON THE BEACH

MYRTLE BEACH, SC-  The South Range Raiders took the lead late and defeated Horseheads Blue Raiders 10-8 on Monday. South Range was down 7-6 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jamie Feren doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs, and earning the “Money Chain” for the Lady Raiders.

The Lady Raiders earned the victory despite allowing Horsehead to score five runs in the fifth inning. Horsehead’s big bats were led by Molly Wolf, Belle Giammichele, and Rachel Lunger, who each had RBIs in the inning.

South Range got things moving in the first inning, when Kelly Szolek grounded out, scoring one run.

After Horseheads scored one run in the top of the sixth, the Burgundy and Gold answered with one of their own. Horsehead scored when Eva Koratsis’s sac fly scored one run. South Range then answered when an error scored one run.

Samantha Susany led the Raiders to victory in the pitcher’s circle. The righthander allowed five hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Megan Wolf took the loss for Horsehead. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out one.

Maddie Matkosky started the game for Horsehead. Matkosky lasted four and a third innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out four Juli Stachowicz started the game for the Lady Raiders. The lefty surrendered three runs on three hits over four and a third innings, striking out eight

South Range Raiders Varsity tallied 11 hits in the game. Szolek, Madison Dado, Feren, and Reagan Irons all collected multiple hits for South Range. Irons, Feren, Dado, and Szolek all had two hits to lead South Range Raiders Varsity.  Feren wore the cape on the day and was the hammering hero in the box with 4 runs batted in.

Horseheads Blue Raiders Varsity collected eight hits on the day. Giammichele, Olivia Packard, and Matkosky all managed multiple hits for Horsehead.

South Range will now turn their attention to Beaver (PA) in a much-anticipated matchup with the Lady Bobcats on Tuesday at 10am.

 


LADY SPARTANS COME UP SHY AGAINST AURORA

BOARDMAN, OH- Despite a 6-run deficit in the second inning, Boardman almost came all the way back, eventually falling 9-7 to Aurora on Saturday. Boardman Spartans Varsity scored five runs in the failed comeback on a single by Tori Strines in the second, a single by Madison Lester in the second, a double by Madison Wymer in the fifth, a triple by Nadia Rawhneh in the fifth, and a single by Sofia Hoffman in the fifth.

The Lady Spartans couldn’t keep up with Aurora early in the game. Aurora scored on a double by M Metzger in the first inning, a groundout by Miller in the first inning, a double by Retton in the first inning, a single by Dallesandro in the first inning, and a double by Retton in the second inning.

Boardman notched three runs in the fifth inning to start the comeback. The offense in the inning came from a triple by Rawhneh, a single by Hoffman, and a double by Wymer.

Metzger took the win for Aurora. The ace allowed ten hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.

Strines took the loss for Boardman. Strines surrendered four runs on eight hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

Lester started the game for Boardman. The righthander went one-third of an inning, allowing five runs on four hits and walking zero

Boardman scattered ten hits in the game. Lester, Hoffman, Wymer, and Rawhneh all managed multiple hits for Boardman Spartans Varsity. Lester went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Spartans.

Aurora tallied 12 hits on the day. Petrash, Metzger, McVicker, and Retton all had multiple hits for Aurora. Aurora didn’t commit a single error in the field. K Ring had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

COWHER HAS A NIGHT; STRIKES OUT 13, AND WALKS OFF RIVERSIDE

BESSEMER, PA- Mohawk defeated Riverside 3-2 on Wednesday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at two with Mohawk Area Warriors Varsity batting in the bottom of the eighth when GiGi Cowher singled on a 2-0 count, scoring the game-winner from second base.

The pitching was strong on both sides as well. Cowher struck out 13, while Sam Rosenberger sat down ten.

Riverside got things started in the first inning. Rosenberger singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.  Riverside evened things up at two in the top of the seventh inning. Rosenberger grounded out into a double play but scored a run in the process.

Cowher toed the rubber for Mohawk, the fireballer went eight innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out 13.

Rosenberger led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Riverside. The hurler went seven and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and striking out ten.

Aricka Young led the Lady Warriors with three hits in four at-bats.

Riverside saw the ball well today, racking up five hits in the game. Danny Rosenberger and Sam Rosenberger all collected multiple hits for Riverside. Riverside tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Rosenberger led the way with three.

RESERVE HOLDS OFF SEBRING FOR CONFERENCE WIN

BERLIN CENTER, OH- Sebring scored three runs in the second inning, but Western Reserve still won 10-3 on Tuesday. Sebring’s big inning was driven by a triple by Devyn Reggi and an error on a ball put in play by Allison Hoschar.

Western Reserve tallied five runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Western Reserve was led by Joanie DagnanMaggie Byers, and Hannah Heath, all driving in runs in the inning.

Byers was on the rubber for the Lady Blue Devils. The right-hander lasted five innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Hoschar was in the pitcher’s circle for McKinley. The pitcher went four innings, allowing ten runs on 12 hits and striking out one.

Western Reserve racked up 12 hits in the game. Alexa AbramsAubrey KutskoCaylee SelleyMadison Gatto, and Dagnan all collected multiple hits for the Lady Devils DagnanGattoSelleyKutsko, and Abrams each collected two hits to lead Western Reserve.

LADY BULLDOGS OFFENSE EXPLODES IN FIRST WIN

NEW WATERFORD, OH- Even though the East Palestine Bulldogs gave up four runs in the second inning, they still defeated Youngstown East 22-4 on Saturday. The big inning for East came thanks to a groundout by Maldando and a double by Lopez.

The Bulldogs got things moving in the first inning. Gabby Andre singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.  Anna Yonker led things off in her first-ever Varsity start for East Palestine. The ace surrendered four runs on five hits over three innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Mela was in the circle for East. The pitcher surrendered 22 runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out three.

EP racked up nine hits in the game. Andre and Alexus Robb each collected multiple hits for the BulldogsAndre went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Brown and White in hits. EP tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Ceci Foster led the way with three.

LAKEVIEW OUTLASTS STRUTHERS IN SLUGFEST

STRUTHERS, OH- The Lakeview Lady Bulldogs snagged a late lead and defeated Struthers 19-10 on Wednesday. The game was tied at ten with Lakeview batting in the top of the eighth when Maggie Pavlansky hit a solo homer to start a 9-run party. Kylie Imes led Lakeview to victory by driving in four runs. Imes went 3-for-5 at the plate. Imes drove in runs on a single in the second and a home run in the eighth.

Lakeview got things moving in the first inning when an error scored a run.  In the top of the seventh inning, Lakeview tied things up at ten. Gianna Caruso singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run as part of a 3-run frame.

Raegan Schick led the Lady Bulldogs to victory on the rubber. The fireballer surrendered five runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out ten and walking one.

For Struthers, Nicolina Pezzone took the loss for Struthers. The Wildcat standout allowed 17 hits and 18 runs over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out nine.

Ella Chadwick started the game for Lakeview, and allowed five hits and five runs over one inning, striking out one.

The Lady Bulldogs socked four home runs on the day. Pavlansky had a four-bagger in the eighth and eighth innings. Imes went yard in the eighth inning as well. Reagan Price put one out in the fourth inning.  Lakeview tallied 18 hits on the day. Pavlansky, Imes, Caruso, Price, Olivia Easton, Schick, and Hallie Capan all collected multiple hits for Lakeview. Pavlansky went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead the Lady Dogs in hits.
