WARRIORS PITCH A SHUTOUT ON THE ROAD

MINERVA OH- West Branch outsted Minerva on the road 5-0 on Monday in a dominating defensive performance.  The Warriors got on the board in the second inning after Charlie Biskup singled, scoring one run.

Beau Alazaus earned the win for West Branch. He allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none. Logan Frigyes took the loss for the Lions. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out six and walking three.

Jeremiah Thomas provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led West Branch with two runs batted in. They went 2-for-4 on the day. Gavin Bell and Thomas each collected two hits. Maddox Coleman led with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Aaron Tucker, Coleman, and Thomas each stole multiple bases for West Branch. The Warriors ran wild on the base paths, accumulating nine stolen bases for the game. The Warriors were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Hunter Shields made the most plays with nine.
