WEST BRANCH PUTS ON A SHOW IN FRONT OF HOME FANS

BELOIT OH- In a high-scoring and thrilling showdown, West Branch emerged victorious, handing Girard their first loss of the year in a 52-43 shootout. West Branch’s Joey Jackson showcased an incredible performance, scoring five touchdowns on the night, including an impressive defensive score. Jackson also etched his name in the school’s record books with 15 catches for 208 yards, tying the school record with four receiving touchdowns.

On the opposing side, Girard’s Stephen Sims had an outstanding night with 8 catches, 3 touchdowns, and 144 receiving yards. The quarterbacks were also in top form, with West Branch’s Beau Alazaus completing 32 of 50 passes for 370 yards and 6 touchdowns. He found Anthony Perry 12 times for 97 yards, and Boston Mulinix contributed with 20 carries for 79 yards. Girard’s Tuff McConahy delivered a strong performance as well, going 29-51 for 416 yards and 6 touchdowns.

What set West Branch apart were the game-changing turnovers they forced, a total of five, which ultimately proved to be the difference-maker in this high-scoring affair.
