BLUE DEVILS SINK FREE THROWS LATE; BEAT WELLSVILLE

WELLSVILLE, OH – As playoff seeding draws closer, the Wellsville Tigers and the Lisbon Blue Devils are both fighting for better positioning when voting begins in a few weeks. Last night’s game had a significant impact on those seedings as both teams are right in the middle of the pack, looking to emerge into one of those top four positions to receive a first game bye.

The Blue Devils jumped out to an early lead and maintained it for much of the night, but a few three pointers by Lucas Green and a few layups by Darien Suggs, made the Blue Devils have to earn a victory from the free throw line. Lisbon’s, Ryan McCullough, hit two free throws with just under 10 seconds to push the lead to seven as Lisbon escaped Wellsville with a 56-49 victory.

Wellsville was led by Darien Suggs with 19 points and Isiah Greathouse with 13 points.

The Lisbon Blue Devils were led by Ryan McCullough with 19 points and 7 assists. Blayne Brownfield added in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Nick Mundy was also all over the glass, as he finished the night with a team high, 10 rebounds.

Up next for Lisbon (7-9) is a home match up against the United Golden Eagles on Friday night.
