BULLDOGS BLANK JEFFERSON

CORTLAND, OH- Lakeview defeated Jefferson 9-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Gavin Mauger induced a fly-out from Pj Modzelewski to finish off the game.

Lakeview got on the board in the second inning when Andrew Brown doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

The Bulldogs notched four runs in the sixth inning. Lakeview batters contributing to the big inning included Andrew McRoberts, Cal Rinck, and Mauger, all knocking in runs in the inning.

A single by Kirkland Lambert in the first inning was a positive for Jefferson.

Brown was the winning pitcher for Lakeview. The righty allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out five. Mauger threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Lambert took the loss for Jefferson. The pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

The Bulldogs totaled 11 hits in the game. Blaine Barr, McRoberts, Brown, and Rinck each managed multiple hits for Lakeview. Rinck, Brown, McRoberts, and Barr each collected two hits to lead Lakeview.
