DOWNTOWN ABBIE

SALEM OH- Salem is on the path to regionals! For the first time since 2004 the Quakers have won a district championship and will travel to Barberton for regionals. One of the biggest reasons that Salem has been able to persevere through a long basketball season is emotional is their emotional, and mental leader Abbie Davidson. She’s not a senior, but she’s been asked to act as one of the teams strongest pillars of leadership.

Abbie has been dealing with a knee injury all season long. Suffered in soccer, she has worked her way all the way back. Like most injuries, the biggest obstacle for Abbie was the mental toughness. Being able to trust her knee and trust that it’s okay. However, watching her go through this journey of getting through knee pain, and wearing a brace has done nothing but strengthen the respect her teammates have for her. She had been a shining model of the right way to deal with adversity. Everyone on Salem’s roster, and everyone close to the program has been shown a strong lesson by Abbie Davidson.

Abbie took the time to join YSN’s Running Point this week to talk about her basketball season. She chats with Anthony Hartwig, and Ty Bartell about her journey through adversity, her excitement for the regional games, and much more.
