MCCALLA SHINES IN A NO HIT PERFORMANCE

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- Haleigh McCalla was brilliant in the circle on Monday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead Springfield past Waterloo 13-0.

Springfield secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fourth inning. McCalla, Emily Gerthung, Gabbie Nalevanko, Hannah Leipply, Olivia Allen, and Gianna Piccuta all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

The Tigers fired up the offense in the first inning. Jacey Mullen drove in two when she doubled.

McCalla got the win for Springfield. The ace allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out 11.

The Tigers tallied 15 hits on the day. Mullen, Allen, McCalla, Gerthung, and Leipply all managed multiple hits. Mullen went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. Springfield was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Rachel Malatok had the most chances in the field with 11.
