RAIDERS FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATIC CONTINUES

By Noah Doughty

CANFIELD OH- It was a thrilling game up until the end as a last second basket gave South Range a 48-46 win over Chaney.

Landon Moore set the tone early scoring the first 14 points for South Range and 20 of their 33 first half points giving them a nine point lead at the half. However Chaney’s defensive adjustments caused problems for the Raiders and Moore only scored 2 points in the second and as a team the Raiders had a 3 point 3rd quarter. And after struggling from behind the arc Chaney made some clutch 3 pointers including one by Asvonte Mickel tying 3 with 9.8 seconds remaining. However South Range was able to run the court and get a quick 2 leaving Chaney not enough time to respond.

Landon Moore finished with 22 points for the Raiders. Jeshawn Holcomb had 13 points for the Cowboys and Austin Brown contributed 11 points.

South Range improves to 2-1 on the season and will take on Girard this Tuesday, December 12th at home hoping to continue their successful start to the season. Chaney’s next game is Tuesday, December 12th on the road against Canfield in what looks to be another great matchup.
