TIGERS THRILLED TO BE BACK ON THE DIAMOND

HOWLAND OH- Brooke Tatar struck out 15 batters as they led Howland past Green 6-2 on Saturday at Howland on their football field. Tatar surrendered seven hits and two runs over seven innings while walking two.

Howland was the first to get on the board in the second when Calleigh Luman singled, scoring two runs. They added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Madison Schmitz doubled, and Tatar singled, each scoring one run.

Hailey Yania took the loss for Green. The righty went four innings, surrendering four runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking none.

The Tigers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Luman led with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Luman, Sydney VanNess, and Schmitz each collected two hits. Howland turned one double play in the game. They didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brianna Deter had the most chances in the field with 15.

Leadoff hitter Mackenzie Carr led the Bulldogs with four hits in four at bats. Mckenzie Collinsworth and Carr each drove in one run.
