The 2nd quarter is where the Raider defense really stepped up their pressure, senior Michael Cunningham went on a scoring spree with steals and great finishes in transition. He scored 12 points in the frame and the Raiders outscored the Rebels 20-3 to take a 38-17 lead into halftime

The Raiders went the whole first half without hitting a three, not that they really needed it. But in the third quarter Brady White hit a three to make it 44-20. The lead would only grow as the Raiders continued to force turnovers with high pressure defense. At the end of 3 the Raiders lead 54-28.

Crestview 2/8 from the line in the 2nd quarter. This would help the Raiders take a commanding 36-17 lead into the locker room.

The third quarter is where the Raiders really took a stranglehold on the game. The inside presence of both Lamparty and Dani Vuletich opened up shots for Bri Modic as she tallied 11 points in the 3rd to bring her total to 21. The Rebels did show a little more life on offense, just not nearly enough to keep up with the Raiders, who lead after 3 60-33.

The final frame was clean up work for the Raiders senior Sam Patrone continued her streak of games with a three as she hit one late in the 4th to give the Raiders their final 3 points of the game. MR. ANDERSON SHINES, RAIDERS GET FIRST WIN

The Raiders boys basketball team had to wait an extra 4 days to start their season with their football success taking away practice time, but the time off had no effect and the Raiders rolled to 55-33 win over Carrollton

The Raiders got off to a quick start right off the bat as Michael Cunningham hit 3 three-pointers in the 1st quarter to push the Raiders way ahead early. That coupled with intense press from the Raider defense, allowing just 5 points in the first quarter. Raiders ended the first frame leading 15-5.

The 2nd quarter was more domination from the Raiders, especially on defense. Brennan Toy was relentless in his pressure of the Warrior point guard. Junior Jaxon Anderson tallied 6 of his 10 first-half points in the 2nd quarter and the Raiders went into the locker room with a 29-12 lead.

In the third quarter, the Warriors showed some fight. Their defense held the Raiders in check while their offense slowly but surely chipped away. Getting the lead down to 29-22 as the Raiders were in the midst of a 5:30 scoring drought ended by a Jaxon Anderson free throw. But that is as close as Anderson would let them get as he went on to dominate the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter and eventually tallying a game-high 24 points for the Raiders. The boys would take care of business the rest of the way and roll to a 55-33 victory. Jaxon Anderson lead with 24 points.

The Lady Raiders withstood a furious 4th quarter rally from Carrollton for a 54-51 win and improve to 5-0.

The first quarter of the game started off slow for both offenses as the Raiders took a slim deficit into the 2nd quarter at 14-13.

After a timeout, the Raiders were in desperate need of points. Senior Samantha Patrone stepped up with a huge 3 to cut the lead to 23-17. From there the Warrior offense began to rush and turn the ball over. The Raiders capitalized with excellent transition offense and then Bri Modic hit a three from the corner to put the Raiders in the lead 29-26.  That would be the score at halftime.

The Raiders really dominated the 3rd quarter. They used ball movement to feed freshman Izzy Lamparty inside, Dani Vuletich also made a few key offensive rebounds to help the Raiders push to a 42-32 lead after three quarters.

The Warriors refused to go away however as Mikayla Poole lead her team to storm back scoring 12 of her game-high 26 points in the 4th quarter. The Warriors were never able to tie the game however, every time the Warriors would get close, the Raiders would make big plays. Late in the game, the Warriors forced a big turnover and got an old-fashioned 3 point play to cut the Raider lead to 52-49 with under a minute to go.
