NORTH JACKSON OH- It must be a fun time to be a Blue Jay. On Tuesday night Jackson Milton won a dramatic game with then undefeated Heartland Christian. Aaren Romigh hit a shot at the buzzer to give the Jays a 67-65 win. It gave the Blue Jays their first win of the young season. They’ll return to action on Friday against Campbell.

HEARTLAND CHRISTIAN BOYS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH JOSH SCOTT

COLUMBIANA OH- Heartland Christian got their season off to an amazing start. They won their first four games of the season with an offense that seems nearly unstoppable. Every one of their first four games they have scored 69 points or more. Their defense has played well too, making these games runaways. The Lions did lose a heartbreaker to Jackson Milton at the buzzer to move to 4-1.

URSULINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW) WITH DAN REARDON

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Ursuline Fighting Irish are back in the state championship game this season as head coach Dan Reardon has the boys playing their best football of the season! The Irish have battled their way through the playoffs including a 34-17 victory over Port Clinton in the state semi finals last week. Ursuline will take on Clarksville. Clinton-Massie in the championship game that will take place on Friday, December 3rd at 10:30am at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio!

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, had the opportunity to talk to Coach Reardon this week via video chat to discuss the impressive display of football in the state semi finals last week, what the Irish need to do to take care of business against Clinton-Massie, what some keys to the game this week will be as Ursuline will look to bring the championship trophy back home to Youngstown, and so much more!

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – It is no secret to anyone in the Youngstown area, the Ursuline football team is always one of the most storied teams in the Mahoning Valley and nobody knows that better than head coach Dan Reardon. This week, his Ursuline Fighting Irish squad will take the field in Euclid, looking to rewrite history in the state semifinals.

YSN’s own “Coach”, Steve Leslie, had the opportunity to chat with Coach Reardon this week to talk about Week 15 and what his mindset is going into this elite match up, but also what Ursuline needs to do to show thanks for all that has been over the last few seasons, and any insight Coach might have for us involving the playoffs and how he thinks the Irish might line up against Port Clinton.

Coach, Mark Brungard has been able to be the offensive coordinator for a Tigers team that is playing incredible football and firing on all cylinders offensively. Last week, Springfield defeated Mogadore while putting up 43 points. This week, the Tigers will travel to Euclid this Saturday night, to take on Carey with a berth in the state championship game on the line.

EAST PALESTINE, OH- It’s a new era in Bulldog Country.  Jason Ray takes over as the new Head Coach of the storied East Palestine program and has Bulldog fans of all generations looking forward to the new season.

Ray, who was the head coach on the diamond for Youngstown East, has several years of experience in hoops as well.  The staff assembled is built around fundamental basketball experience with a focus on creative solutions for athletes to succeed within the program.

HOWLAND OH- The Howland lady Tigers are a proud basketball team. They have tons of tournament experience and success in years past. Returning a good core of seniors, and plenty of size the Tigers will be a monster to deal with this year. In an AAC that seems wide open for the taking, the Tigers are going to try and make their move. It will be tough, but the Tigers will have their claws sharpened by a hard schedule.
